Both side seems to be frustrated at each other there. Beehaw admins accused lemmy devs of not listening to their requests for better moderation tools, while lemmy devs accused beehaw admins of demanding more work without contributing anything or gave them appreciation. I hope the conflict is just temporary and they can reconcile later when things have cooled off.

You may feel that way, but not every power user is like you. Linux distro is not a monolith, it's made up of thousands of small components made by different people and organizations. If you look at some of those components source control (e.g. on GitHub or GitLab), you'll see a large portion of pull requests are done by their users who found bugs and decided to submit a fix themselves. For example, just look at how many pull requests libgweather got, and they're mostly submitted by gnome users who were mildly annoyed with the weather app.

I'm actually not sure about that. You might want to test it yourself on your own server before shutting it down for good. See if you can bring up lemmy again after renaming the pictrs directory to simulate deletion.

I just tested freerdp on gnome wayland and it works (via Settings -> Sharing -> Remote Desktop). Combined with tailscale/zerotier, you should be able to remote from anywhere via RDP.
