Why? - Antisemitism in their home countries makes those a less habitable place than an Israel, even though it is continuously on the brink of a war.
And this doesn't even touch the rampant antisemitism in the Muslim world that wants to drive the Jews into the ocean and doesn't accept a state Israel under any circumstances.
Those 50% of the population spend all their life being indoctrinated by the Hamas. That's 1 million kids. Apart from that the neighbors of the palestinians don't like palestinians very much, how would you set up a program to integrate those kids into any society?
And that explains why it was impactful movies in the 70s, but that doesn't explain why it's rated 2nd best movie today. If anything you provided arguments against that.
