  • It does tend to sort by recent, but to me that's its strength. It makes no effort to curate the feed, it gives me all the articles from the sources I choose in order and that's it. So while I still use Lemmy for the "popular", RSS tends to deliver me deep niche content that may not be popular but is very interesting to me.

And also so much content is overlooked by sites like Reddit and Lemmy, that often it is stuff that's popular if I post it, but no one's gotten to it yet. It tends to be more up to date because you don't have to wait for things to get voted to the front page

  • Heroes.

  • For me the only use case for this has been when I'm really tired and want to watch while lying flat on my back. Unfortunately most of the apps don't even support this. But Netflix actually did.

  • I'd be really surprised if it didn't at least have 4k upscaling and HDR.

  • My switch broke and I'm holding out for a new one. I'd really like dates for this.

  • Isn't that basically what the platform is for now?

  • I wonder if this move will change that, at least in the EU?

  • It won't make sense in the first purchase. It will start to make sense when you want to upgrade and don't have to throw the whole thing out or when something breaks and you can easily and cheaply fix it.

  • Russia is producing a lot. Yes, they are burning through more on the front line until now, but western support has ground to a near standstill in recent months, so it's entirely plausible that they could continue fighting and start building up supplies if NATO can't provide more weapons to Ukraine.

  • This is a good idea, once they go out to space in their rockets, we just revoke their passport to earth.

  • Fuck no. I handled it like a man and trial and errored it for weeks. I am ashamed to say that I had to ask the dealer for assistance to drive it off the lot because I was blocking people and they were getting pissed.

  • I've got a 2018 mini cooper SE hybrid. It has a little switch to turn on. The switch has its light on when the car is turned off and it's light off when the car is turned on. It also has a third state after you get out of the car where it's not really on or off but you can't charge it or drive it until you turn it completely on or off. And you can't turn it on if you don't have it in neutral. And it doesn't really tell you if the parking break is on except a little light on the center console which you never see, so the car may be on but you won't be able to drive it because the parking brake is on. Sometimes it wont let you unplug it until you lock it and unlock it again for some reason.

And don't even get me started on the CarPlay or the driver profiles or the park assist menu that overstays its welcome by about 3 minutes.

  • Fellow Mini owner. This is only one of the many questionable UI decisions made in my car. I literally had to get help to get it started the first time.

  • I don't see how you can consider leaving it in the company being "taking it for themselves". You can't do anything with that money other than pay for business investment or expenses. At least until it's turned into dividends.

  • That's my point.

    You said

profit is literally only the money they take for themselves.

But the money they take for themselves are called dividends, and is a subset of profit. Profit can stay in the business too.

  • Actually he's correct as to the dictionary definition of profit. What you are describing are called dividends in business parlance.

  • Yes I wondered the exact same thing. It sounded a lot like everyone's first reaction to VR.
