Yep, production is where the money's at. Paramount/Viacom figured this out long ago, with their CBS strategy of making cheap crappy shows with 25 episode seasons and then pawning them off on cable TV for syndication

Absolutely. The details are a lot better than the headline. The actors seem happy with Angel Studios, so it's not like they're being mistreated, and based on the terms, Angel Studios must agree to whatever terms the unions settle on once the strike is broken.

I would actually to see indie studios like them continue to make content so long as they treat their talent well, it sticks it to the big studios and leaves them in the dust while also giving writers, actors, etc. jobs in this interim period.

To a certain degree independent filmmakers have already been in power positions, like A24, for make blockbuster money on lean budgets. They were set to become the future of cinema anyways.

Dang, that sucks all around.

It'd be nice if in cases like these, people forced to work on these projects could get a guarantee that they cannot be released until the strike is over.

But hey maybe it's just me, as a conservative, not minding too much watching Hollywood movies starring conspiracy theorists, woke activists, cult leaders, etc. that when an indie movie does the same thing, it doesn't really faze me.

I couldn't care less about Simu Liu being woke, for example, I just care if the movies that he's in are good. Shang Chi was awesome, and I hope that Barbie is too.

I mean, did the events in the movie happen, or not? If they did, it's hard to see how that's bamboozling exactly.

Most people do not watch press junkets either by the way, so they probably are at worst, speaking to the choir, and at best, speaking into the void.
