  • Yeah! It lets me focus on content instead of building the actual site so I thought I would suggest it given OP's use case.

Also the CSS can be modified with a separate file that overrides the default, so it's pretty customizable without touching the actual config files at all.

  • Have you considered a wiki instead? I use OtterWiki and I like it a lot. It has version control using Git too.

There are several dozen different wiki softwares out there, you can compare their features using this site.

  • UNIX-like operating systems that utilize kernels other than Linux exist. FreeBSD, Plan9, etc. Not to mention that the Linux kernel isn't developed by a single person or even a single organization. Mozilla's governance structure is totally different.

  • Maybe if hospital administrators couldn't unilaterally staff skeleton crews to save money we wouldn't have this issue.

Nurses shouldn't have to do all this work with no support - mandate staffing requirements with significant financial penalties for non-compliance and I can guarantee work hours will become sane.

  • Yeah, for some reason I find this hard to read. I think it might be the lack of contrast between the fonts? Could be fixable by adjusting the weight instead of totally changing the font, though. (I would change the handwritten-looking one just because I find it kind of ugly.)

  • The Canadian Future Party (CFP; French: Parti avenir canadien, PAC) is a minor federal political party in Canada that was officially launched in 2024. It describes itself as being politically centrist, campaigning on a fiscally conservative and socially liberal platform.

That made me audibly groan, along with this:

    • Allowing the private sector to take a larger role in society with government oversight
    • Simplifying the tax code to close loopholes in cooperation with the provinces and territories
    • Ending corporate subsidies and supply management where a return on investment cannot be delivered

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but this seems like a recipe for laissez-faire capitalism that will eventually end in a collective shrug, a few golden parachutes, and a recession. Canada does not need more centrism.

  • They're okay, but they mostly taste like Vanilla Coke with a faint whisper of artificial chocolate flavour (think Tootsie Rolls). I really don't recommend it unless you want to try a novelty flavour for fun.

  • The bar isn't really that high if you look at how cases that are solved actually got solved (deductive reasoning, forensic analysis, trust from the community including the marginalized, and focused manpower from people who give a fuck).

It's just that the people who want to be cops are more interested in wearing a fancy uniform, using weapons, harassing poor people, and beating their spouses than actually doing real work that involves brain power. Not to mention office politics.

Magic omniscience would probably help though. They should work on that after solving the "violent and stupid" issue. ;)
