  • I don't know, I think the BG branding on top of it did help with the hype because of BG2's reputation and existing fanbase. The D&D aspect is definitely a bigger deal though.

Ultimately I think it sold well because it's a really good game that was easy to turn into fun memes and clips. Plus early access meant there were a ton of people who already played it which helped the hype even more.

  • Fucking what? The article is explicitly about Arab and Muslim employees

It's disgusting how fucking comfortable you islamophobic racists feel all of a sudden. I bet you think you're so much better than the anti-semites too. Two sides of the same coin

Y'all trying to gaslight us like the response to any kind of sympathy for Palestinians hasn't been completely over the top.

  • The combat isn't any better the further back you go, it's actually worse. Combat's never been a strength of this series.

Daggerfall is a very different game from Skyrim. It's much more about hardcore RP, like you can actually fail the main plot if you don't complete the first quest within a few weeks of in-game time.

  • Daggerfall is around the size of the UK, but it's all procedurally generated. It still feels enormous compared to Starfield, which felt tiny in spite of having 1000 planets because everything was locked behind load screens

  • What nonsense justification is this? You think rich kids aren't going to find a way around conscription? Because history shows that they always do.

Conscripted armies have proven time and again that they have terrible morale, even in good times. They're a shit idea that should only be used when the country has no other choice.

  • It's over for beehaw already. Once they decided to ban everyone from the largest lemmy instance, it was over. They aren't important to the fediverse, period, and never will be with their current leadership who have no idea what they actually want it to be, apart from their personal internet fiefdom.

The short amount of time I was there, it felt like a community built for the moderators and admins, not the users themselves. Frankly the fediverse is better off without them, so I hope they do leave.
