  • It's actually very rare that Hollywood makes non-nature movies that use correct animal sounds(and it's often not correct in animal focused ones either). For birds they especially tend to use sounds that are exclusive to North America, even if the setting is in on another continent.

There's the classic of kids asking why they've never heard the "ribbit ribbit" sound in nature: The pacific tree frog only lives on the west coast of North America.

And let's not forget almost every single time you see a bear "roaring", it's almost always mixed in with lion roars and such. In real life a black bear "roar" sounds more like a cow going "moo".

  • It's an age thing.

Most higher level government officials tend to be around boomer age. And over their lifetime they've grown to trust traditional-media more than almost anything. And these days the most major outlets are focused eniterly on revenue, so most of them heavily self-censor.

You'd be shocked at how many people in their 60s literally do not know a fraction of what has been going on there.

  • This is a great demonstration of how disinformation agents work.

There are multiple sources, a full documentary, interviews with the creators, the agent is named. etc. And most of the top comments on the posts about this, are from troll farms out of Russia talking about how the source is bad, how it's just gossip, no one is named, etc. and generally just lying to discredit the story.

  • I tried looking up some communities after I saw people complain about them. And 99.9999% of it is people venting about being told for the 50th time in twenty years that they'll change their mind about having kids any day now. Or doctors refusing hysterectomies to unmarried women because they don't have their husband consent(this still regularly happens in the US and Europe. To the point where there are resources where you can look up doctors who aren't living in the 50s). Then you see the community brought up by other people and they're often described as filled with people who want to murder children.

It's honestly quite wild how much people take those generalized accusations at face value because they saw one or two peoeple say something inappropriate.

  • About thirty thousand people, it's in the Mojave, one of the stopping places before entering a national park, military installation and the local college has a special section on their website about offering programs to military personnel, specially about HVAC.

I've been to places like that, and I strongly recommend never staying overnight. And if you have to, stay in your room and do not go to a local establishment that serves alchol.

  • UK government lawyers stated there is no evidence of genocide in Gaza or that the IDF specifically targets women and children, as they defended arms exports to Israel in a high court case.

So I'm guessing they don't allow recorded statements, public record or video recordings as evidence then? Or is it just some closed session where a bunch of idiots suck eachother off to the sound of money counting machines?

  • So you install a "f2p" game, get ten rounds(which takes a few minutes) and then you have to subscribe to play anymore, and the only option is $30 for a year? And it's missing features that are on the website version.

    Yeah, that is deserved rating.

  • Translation:

We know the newest low end cards are a terrible upgrade(it's probably downgrade for many), so they wont sell and we want to make up the loss on our artificially bloated prices by increasing them even more.

I really wish Intel would move faster, so they and AMD can start competing for proper consumer GPUs. Because nvidia has clearly made up their mind that the AI market is the way forwards and it almost seems like they're trying to kill off their video game department by increasing prices and decreasing quality each generation.
