My wife and I average $69k/year each and we're doing...just okay-ish. We can pay our mortgage (bought 12 years ago, couldn't afford our house if we bought it today), one nice 5 year-old car, some student loan debt, bills, some entertainment and eating out occasionally, some tech like tablets and phones so they aren't over five years old. But we can't pay for house repairs, a major card breakdown/repair, or any vacation that is more than a day's drive away. We can probably restructure our finances to do be a little better off, but for the life of me, I don't know how family that is making less than $80k gets by, let alone $30k, or even less.

Climate deniers won't accept what is happening until it directly affects them, and even then, they still might do mental gymnastics to make it about something else.

I'm surprised it was only two people. I can't imagine anyone thinking swimming in those conditions as part of a competition was a good idea.

Ideally, you can return it from where you purchased it.

Nintendo returns are a bit of a hassle but doable, but if they can’t guarantee a 1-1 replacement, you might be on the hook for a swap (I don’t know what this takes to do or feasibility of it), or, may be sell the replacement and use the money to buy an exact replacement online?

I can’t think of any other avenues to get you whole. I love the Switch, but joy-cons are trash.

I know that this is political backlash for Trump's impeachments, but I will never not support investigating people in high amounts of power, or the rich. Even if it has a 2% conviction rate, I would support it.

I think she should have retired ages ago, but you should spend some time thinking about how, or even if, you value human life.

Toys R Us

I have too much nostalgia in my veins for Toys R Us, but I want to say that when I was under 12, there was nothing like it.

I think AI will cause a massive wave of employment changes. I think people and companies are currently overreacting as to where/how it can and should be used to be effective, but capitalism will make sure in a few more years it is placed where it makes corporations the most money, regardless (and maybe in spite?) of the cost of jobs.

That's why I tattooed my twins initials on their foreheads backwards at birth, that way if they ever forget who they are, they can just look in the mirror. Billy and Bobby will never forget who they are.

This makes me nostalgic for my old Palm Pre. It was basicallly ChromeOS: Phone Edition. So far ahead of its time if was dismissed….and the hardware engineering was trash. That may have contributed to its downfall a little.

You sound like you’d be ok with physical theft from a mom-pop-shop as long as you get something for free. It’s not in the spirit of the piracy community.
