  • If you want to try something from them that is slightly less depressing the Eel horse episode has one of my favorite moments. The pure joy of Robert's reaction to Garrison in that episode gives me the warm fuzzies. Also if you want a sillier version of btb you should try the dollop. They tend to focus on more silly and absurd than awful.

edit: also the christmas episodes of btb are stories of good things happening.

  • Israel has devoted a lot of resources to claiming that any criticism of the state of Israel and its hasbara is anti-semitic. NYC has a famously large and active jewish diaspora. The state claiming to be the voice of all jewish people is also claiming that the man most likely to be mayor of the city with (i think) the largest jewish population in America hates jewish people because he thinks that gunning down refugees in a bread line is bad.

    edit:grammar

  • Nothing like proximity to religious zealots to convince you that they shouldn't be anywhere near power (or children).

  • You have a very good point. When left alone too long they reinvent Stalinist and Maoist failed policies like the OK politician with the "no man, no problem" approach to journalists and the "Every american should have to be a farmer for a year" from a bit ago.

  • touches nose Why risk your money on gold or silver when you can invest in brass? Pretty good odds on another spicy summer in America.

  • The knob should just pull off, but sometimes they require full chooch. If she breaks it, it's not a big deal. If Habitat Re-Store is a thing near her they usually have a shelf of these knobs for almost nothing. If not the big box stores sell them too, and the lights can be turned on and off without the knob until she can get a replacement.

Back when I worked as a handyman I used the old knobs for many things. Some people get very weird about change. I'd usually ask if they wanted the new one to wedge into their junk drawer, though.

  • Remember, folks: "Private School Choice" has always been a trojan horse for segregated schools. Anyone who supports it is either a rube or a racist.

  • I just heard it in "A Real Pain"

  • There's that, but also whoever controls the panama canal has a huge amount of power in global trade. Almost anything made in China and sold East of the Mississippi in the US went through the canal. Almost anything Made in the western US and sold in the EU went through the canal. Panama is also going through a drought that is lowering the levels in the reservoirs they use to raise the locks. This is causing them to raise crossing fees and restrict traffic. The line-go-up people hate that, as they'd turn panama into a desert before they slowed the increase in their profits.

  • Well I'll be. Poked around and even teslas have aftermarket head units available.

  • I just installed a new head unit in my car this year. It's still a thing. I do think the sizing standard is dying as car manufacturers currently favor integrated units over modular. I hope that fades as these cars age and people see the flaw of "my car wont start because a capacitor in my radio dried out and it fails post".

  • Elon's step mother-sister? Who was adopted as a young child? Who has had multiple children with Musk sr?

  • A thin layer of glue stick kept petg from bonding to glass for me, but a nice thick layer of G10 is better as long as you heat soak it before printing. I roughed mine up with some sandpaper and haven't had any issues. Just remember good ppe when working with fiberglass.

  • I think I know precisely what you mean

  • The Donner party were a group on the Oregon trail that got stuck on a mountain pass in the winter and resorted to cannibalism to survive. The Dollup did a really good podcast episode about it.

Also the cafe in the University of Colorado UMC is named "The Alfred Packer Gill". Alfred Packer was a similar famed cannibal.
