  • I watched some of the GWB parodies. I never had any interest in watching Trump parodies, and I'd be annoyed to have comedians do them in shows I otherwise liked.

It's not funny anymore, and it wasn't really that fun then, although satire is a valid method of political commentary. But week after week, there's nothing new, nothing that's more shocking than what was already known. They're fully and completely terrible persons, who should never have political power. Don't need to embody them to understand that.

  • Or you could say night is the anomaly, because most places in the universe are stars.

Nighttime is absence. You could say most of the universe is absence, but most matter is stars.

  • Seriously, because she's from a different universe, her actions of committing genocide and torture across any number of star systems are irrelevant?

If Starfleet doesn't care what people do "in their own space", how could they ever have a problem with anything? Just declare yourself a ruler, obviously democracy doesn't play into it, and you decide what you can do anywhere you are.

  • Of course. The more you have to spend on shelter, the less you have for everything else.

Cuts should be made at the top, not the bottom. Always. If you have to raise your rents, no you don't. You have spare properties, you're doing fine.

  • You mean part of a single episode.

No. They kept her around like she wasn't someone who should be imprisoned for life, far removed from any position where she could manipulate others.

If they wanted to help others, there was a universe full of people more deserving. Two, even.

Not to mention the fact you say after TNG that the older style was dead as if Voyager doesn’t exist.

    Yep.

  • Lucky they made DS9 before TNG had even finished, then.

We didn't really get more of the TNG side of things with the TNG movies. Then they moved on to JJA Star Trek, which wasn't much of anything, not dark, not utopian, just references.

While Discovery was in part based around rescuing an ultra-fascist from another universe.

It took bringing back Picard himself to approach doing what they once did decades ago. And I guess not let the actor have too much say over the script, if that's what messed up the movies.

  • Dogs mostly chose to live with us, and many have the ability to survive without us.

Wolves did, or whatever mutated variant it was, and then we created a whole bunch of different breeds. Some of them might be able to survive. Some of them can't even breed on their own, because humans are idiots.

  • Cats understand that humans are a factor, and decide to work around that factor.

That's basically how they live with humans in the first place, they're not properly domesticated, just happens that they can live with us.

  • The responsibility of parents isn't just to feed their kids until they're 18, but to raise them and give them what they need to become independent adults. A responsibility shared with the government through public services and social safety nets.

Without the parents, it should mean the government has all of responsibilities and can't throw people out on the street if it hasn't finished the job.

Later that week, Gonzales went to Calvary Church, where a volunteer offered to pray with her and another woman joined in. Gonzales had told pastors at both Calvary and Sagebrush churches that she was homeless and living on the street. One pastor prayed with her and signed her up for a baptism.

Oh, good, there's someone we can recruit.

  • Christians are tell, don't show. If they didn't call it a loving god, maybe there could be some logic to it.

But the very core of Christianity is that God had his son executed, and for what? Nothing was solved, God is still in charge, God makes all the decisions. There would be no threat of Hell without God to send people there, he could just stop. But they say he hasn't, and somehow has any measure of love.
