  • That would be unfortunate to see. Can you maybe link examples so others can judgr for themselves? I use their service and often recommend and confirming your statement is important to me so I can adjust my opinion.

  • Streaming sites are great to share the spirit of piracy with your friends that do not want to get into any other piracy option. Literally just sending them a link so they dont buy the movie on amazon is always worth it

  • Of course things always could have been done better, but I still need to see any evidence for this:

Small changes in strategy would have gone a long way – like being more welcoming to straight white men in the 4th wave feminist movement.

Considering those are just "small changes", there should be examples of groups, contexts, communities, parties, regions or social circles that actually done that and succeeded though it in a quantifiable way. I constantly see talk about this concept of appealing to the white straight male, but never see any actual effective examples. (Maybe this would be a fitting question for !mensliberation@lemmy.ca ...)

  • I dig the message

but whenever I see someone identifying as radfems I get scared they are doing transphobic stuff. And I was right again. I dont think promoting content creators that participate in trans hate is the way to go. I hope the radfem movement as a whole manages to deal with this better.

  • So they want to platform a fascist? Giving a nazi access to their audience which he normally wouldn't reach? This guy is part of an ongoing coup and they want to give him primetime attention?

They must think that they are very clever.

  • I think comparing gender or sexual orientation to a disability is also not the way to go. Its a very different experience with very different challenges in our current society.

If what you say is true about not being anti queer, I think you should try to refelct the way you view and talk about queer people. The reactiona to ypur comments are so big/aggressive because the rhetoric you use is very similar to the rhetoric many bigots use when talking about queer folks. So even if you mean it differently, from our perspective it really looks the same / similar.

  • good that you know better than the people that write psychatric / psychological guidelines for professionals. they actually removed the classification as a mental disorder based on more uptodate research and the current scientific consensus. its sad to see people not only repeating this transphobic talking point but people on Lemmy also upvoting it.
