Back then, that was a pretty damn normal thing for people to say. It’s really awful that that it was so normal, but hopefully most people regret saying things like that now.

LAPD pays almost $90K for officers training in the academy and it goes up from there. They have excellent benefits and an actual pension. Studen loan forgiveness and a bunch of other things. They get paid even more if they work night shifts or overtime.

And NY passed it in name only. The government only passed it after letting the industry rewrite it to be mostly useless.

High pay doesn’t help. There are a lot of very high paying police departments and they’re just as corrupt and violent as the others.

I’m skeptical of this article, but I know my own usage went to almost 0 because of how awful the bots and trolls are now. Blue checks are prioritized in the comment section and they’re usually awful people or maybe paid trolls or bots, and it makes the app unusable and unpleasant. That’s really the thing that killed it for me.

I wonder What all they’re including in that count. I’m guessing it includes the fire and and gasoline burned at the event. But does it include transportation to and from the event? Potentially it even includes the co2 generated by farming the food that is there. It doesn’t say so it’s hard to really know how bad it is relative to other vacations.

70k people burning 35k camp fires would add up too though.

Is that more co2 than 70k people going on a normal camping trip including driving, food, fire, etc? I have no idea how to interpret 100k tons of CO2. It’s not an intuitive number.

I’m mostly just against the holodeck episodes. Every time my wif watched ds9 with me, it ended up being a holodeck episode. She doesn’t like Star Trek.

Rotten tomatoes had nothing to do with this. They don’t even employ critics. They aggregate them and the PR firm was directly contacting reviewers.
