Well yeah that's where the bar is - traditionally the difference between the parties has been that Republicans wanted unions to die in a fire, while Dems saw themselves as neutral mediators between unions and employers. Now Dems are moving a little bit towards actively favoring unions, widening the gap further. Still can't exactly trust the Dems as solid labor allies, but if you care about labor issues there's rarely been a time when difference between the parties has been wider.

I pirate and I think doing so should be legal and accepted. It's one thing to have a copyright for profitable uses of some content, a whole other much crazier thing to say copyright forbids sharing that content for free. File sharing should be thought of the same way as letting your friend borrow your book - just a normal and uncontroversial nice thing to do, that you shouldn't avoid based on some concern it will lead to lower book sales.

Are you really claiming to not get the expression "X is on the ballot" to mean it will make a big issue for issue X which party wins? Like for example in 2024 in addition to democracy, abortion will be on the ballot.

Not really, I think feel good stories about good government do particularly badly in the clickbait economy - look at all the downvotes this is getting!
