  • Standing alone 'm' is metre.

With a decimal modifier ahead of it, 'm' is metre

Immediately before a symbol it is milli (one thousandth)

mm - the first m is before the metre symbol, it is the milli multiplier, the second m is after a multiplier, so it is the symbol for metre

mHz - the m is before the symbol Hz (for Hertz) so it is the milli multiplier

km - the m is after the K (kilo, thousand times) multiplier, so it is metre

You probably spell metre 'meter', but a meter is a whole different word in English

  • There are two major classes of canned food:

Things that are acid (like fruit) or sufficiently sweet (like jam) or salty are able to canned in a boiling water bath

Things that have no chemical protection (like meat, many vegetables) need to be canned at high pressure so they boil at well over 100°C and destroy all pathogens

  • Mommy?

    Jump
  • I eat highland raised beef, fed entirely on their pasture, so probably very little pesticide or gene edited cereals

It's only national parks uphill, upstream, from them

I use cast iron to cook, I dislike plastic cooking tools, so I use pans that can tolerate steel.

I drink from glass almost exclusively and I donate plasma, which is probably the only way of getting rid of PFAS chemicals (the "forever chemicals")

You and I have heard the same stories. I follow "better to be safe than sorry"

    I really care about food

    Oh don't forget about asbestos

  • My pocket torch has a clip that allows it to clip to a hat, if one needs to extemporise a head lamp

It's more compact than my headlamps, and I'm more likely to have it and a hat

My headlamps hang near the back door of the house for when light is needed in the yard after dark

  • If you don't replace a blade until you have a replacement blade, why not just presume you'll shave forever and use the wrapper from the next?

I did stop shaving for years and when I went back to shaving and replaced the old blade, and wrapped it in the replacement blade's wrapper
