  • This is why I hate this community right here. I answered the person's question and gave him what pirates view point was while calling out these gaming corporations and explained what they will probably do if a bill like this passes and your take away is I am "felationing" (not a word) game companies.

Just droves of window lickers like you infest this space and any nuanced conversations get lost.

  • He did say that in his first video, but came out with a more reflective video which you probably saw.

Regardless, the fact he's dealing with such fall out over an opinion in an industry he's active in and getting ousted is dumb. Everyone is losing their minds over this but like everything people will move on to something else in a month.

  • Basically he is not happy with the wording of the initiative. He had a 10 minute follow up video after he had a knee jerk reaction and went to into personal attacks against the guy that thought of the movement.

I'm going to get to roasted for this but watching his video I see what he's worried about. I agree that this industry has scummy practices but this bill is going to be a monkeys paw scenario.

I would love for this bill to go through in a perfect world but as of now companies are doing layoffs and closing and adding in more red tap and financial burden will mean more projects will be cancelled or won't be released in certain areas because it's not going to be financially viable.

I'm open to have my mind changed as I don't have any insight on what happens behind the scenes in these operations but I think people looked at a PowerPoint that said "gamers are getting fucked over" (which is true when live service games close) and signed something that COULD make studios rally around their legal team and financial departments to make things worse.

Pirate also didn't do himself favors by being not media trained and careful with his words but now he's dealing with SWATing, death threats, harassment, and losing his job over an opinion that's honestly from a perspective of someone that has worked in that industry for a long while vs a community know for being miserable and ready with pitchforks over stupid shit.

  • It's not a democracy it's a representative democracy so basically we have a giant suggestion box that our elected leaders can look at and say "I'll consider that in my vote in Congress".

  • Not what I said. If you think the Democratic party is going to save you than go ahead and keep voting for Chuck Schumer's fetal position strategy because it's your vote and you shouldn't be shamed in voting one way or another same as this guy doing whatever he wants with his vote. That's it.

  • Don't let people shame you into the lesser of two evils argument because it's your vote at the end of the day. I heard all sides for the past 10 years now and honestly we got to Trump because of Hillary and not having a party that stood for anything.

  • We spend more on our military than the next 9 countries combined not including our dark operations that we can't account for in our budget already.

We could cut our military in half and still be the best funded military in the world.

That problem isn't other nations, it's the US and the military industrial complex

  • I really wanted to like this as an alternative to smash brothers but they actively made each update since beta feel less competitive and sluggish while having terrible battle pass/UI shoveled in to monetize and confuse it's player base as much as possible.

  • He's the president America deserves. I feel bad because the Democrats wouldn't listen to their base and Biden leading voters on by saying he's a one and done President then turning around and ruining any chance at a primary to vet candidates.

The American people that know what this means are really the ones I feel the most for.

  • It's amazing how the spoiler effect propaganda from the DNC gets eaten up so easily by voters when a better system of rank choice voting would prevent the thing issue completely.

If the Democrats actually ran on these issues you stated seriously and were not so spinless they wouldn't have to try to fight third party candidates from running in court to push subpar empty suit politicians through the finish line.

Even in their own party, centrist candidate Dean Phillips tried to run against Biden and he had a media blackout and was actively fighting the DNC while the power at be pushed Joe "just a stutter" Biden.

If Jill Stein is such a threat maybe don't push the 81 year old incumbent on your base and with no primary to stress test his viability. Then when his brain shorts out during a debate and he drops THEY STILL don't primary Kamala who's 2020 run was absolutely destroyed the second people started listening to her word salad no answer bullshit get called out by Tulsi Gabard's grifter ass.

  • I mean she has been running since 2012, are you saying that she has been a Trump plant this entire time?

If you are voting for Jill Stein it probably means that you have a distain for both political parties and want a candidate that's not anointed without a primary to vet them AND you don't want a authoritarian figure that will speed up our failing infrastructure and decline as a nation.

  • I would agree with you maybe 10 years ago but I think that the empire being in such decline and leading us to the worst candidates back to back to back it's really hard for me to believe that third parties are to blame for the spoiler effect. Taking third parties off the ballot most likely wouldn't have the effect that people put on them because everyone has an opinion on the two candidates more than ever.

  • Without looking at any statistics or polling, I think the spoiler effect is not as prominent and is over stated for one reason.

If I'm going out of my way to not vote for the Democrats or Republicans and voting third party that would mean that I dislike my options so much that I'm giving a fuck you to the two party system.

What people can gather from this is if you said there was only two options I would just sit out and therefore it wasn't going to affect either candidate regardless.

I'm open to be convinced otherwise but I think candidates blaming spoilers should look at the electoral college and themselves when every 4 years they are ready to blame single digit candidates for their losses.
