Downvotes = “I disagree” or “this is bad and you should feel bad”?

  • This is why the Beehaw way is a good approach. No downvotes only upvotes. Then people actually have to tell why they disagree.

  • Yes, that's the accurate name! I'm not sure I would call FPTP representative given how alternative votes are lost. Like if I'm a socdem in a red district my vote is void, since the FPTP only have one seat. In a proportional system there are bigger districts with more seats so that lesser groups can get their votes distributed onto a seat.
    Like instead of NY State being 102 Dem & 48 GOP, it would be 70 Dem, 10 Socdem, 10 Greens, 20 GOP, 10 Trump, 10 Libertarian etc.

  • In my country the near right are: The Left(Liberal), Christian People's Party(Conservative family values) and The Right(Capitalist). Middle right is The Progress Party(Liberal-Populist). And far right The Alliance(Nationalist-Populist), have no seats.

  • Hello. Was on Reddit for 10 years and been here six days now. I'm here mostly for science, news, fiction, games and finding new stuff. Got over the urge to look at Reddit already, but am taking this new poison. The fediverse with its different instances gives a feeling of smaller communities comming together which is both true and nice.
