  • People making lesser than $200K (even foreigners) don't pay tuition at Harvard. Just checked and all other Ivy League schools similarly offer need-based aid except two.

  • Leo is a rather self-agrandizing name for a cat.

  • I am sure I would be absolutely abhorred by the depth of depravity of your average silicon valley CEO’s hot takes

    That's a really good point.

Also, the Lemmy devs might have authoritarian views but work off of donations while the silicon valley CEOs are some hyper-capitalists with power. The lesser evil seems clear to me.

  • How did you learn English? Do you get taught it in school?

  • The Invincible TV series is quite gory. Blood gets censored to be white in China which makes for some interesting scenes of hands dripping with white stuff. Or this:

  • Can you maybe explain that last sentence?

  • Nice idea, thanks to the admins for coming up with this and putting their money to fund it.

I guess we're likely to see a fair number of comments trying to award silver.

Can we have a "!repeatAward" or similar command? Reply to a "!lemmySilver" comment with it and you can award for the same comment or post. IMO that would reduce clutter because you can then just collapse the first award command and get on with reading actual comments. Maybe even delete all "!lemmySilver" commands after the first one, and DM people letting them know they should use the "!repeatAward" command.

  • Or Newpipe for Android which you simply install.

  • Here come the gaslighters 🤦‍♂️

  • Legitimately nice fit.

Not sure I get the bag though, to be honest.

  • Are we sure its a true scotsman?

  • They have that under all their comments.

  • In moral philosophy these are called "evolutionary debunking arguments". Wikipedia

There are some really good replies to why we shouldnt conclude ethics is moot or something because of evolution. Mentioning this so anyone curious can read about it.

  • Another day of learning about Linux from the comments under a meme.
