  • Wake me up when the "Congress" actually decides to take actions not just ask "questions" after the damage is done and money is made.

Seems more like election season shenanigans where the government wants to make a last bit effort of making it seem like they're doing their job but then nothing happens after. Like clockwork.

  • This is the same ignorant shit as "I don't mind surveillance, because i've got nothing to hide."

Marketing agencies and the likes actually like new platforms as they rarely have strict spam prevention mechanism and analytics to prevent astroturfing, multiple accounts, automation, proxies and everything relating to brigading.

Do you think automating some shit posting on an online forum costs a million dollar or something?

An intern could code a bot in an hour and add in to the already operating workflow. There are also ready-made products that just fill in forms and do social shit.

But sure bruh, no one's doing anything you don't know. You got it all figured out.

  • They're probably tired of being used just as a customer for the military industrial complex and want to go back to their normal lives. They also probably have a ton of intel on the enemy's weaknesses to shut putin and his cronies down.

I hope they succeed at the earliest.

  • Do they publish any of the data from these surveys or use it as an excuse to remove more useful features?

"We listen to our community, so now we're removing about: config access from stable desktop builds to match the mobile version to provide uniform builds, making problems easier to replicate and also provide better security for all. Please use beta or nightly builds for tinkering."

  • US has a history of being fine with violent white protestors and completely unhinged in response to minority protestors

And that's apart from being fine with the war crimes abroad. But it never affected anyone within the country, so that's all fine and dandy thing of the past.

Everyone there conveniently forgets that "history" and only reiterates about the "violence" when it starts to affect themselves.

It just might be that your country loves, or likely worships violence.

  • I'm sensing some Israeli astroturfing going on. Many people are seeing Israel for what it is from since last year. In all this, Israel could use some diversion of attention.

And what better place to concentrate your efforts on other than the rise in islamophoia along with racism in current events. Help dehumanize your enemy abroad. Although the killer wasn't even a muslim, they are still being targeted, even after the facts came out.

Seems very suspicious to me and Israel isn't new to brigading and astroturfing. They in-fact have state-run programmes for it.

  • Guy brought crypto-bros' fake twitter/telegram giveaways scheme to youtube. Anybody with some knowledge of social media scams should have been suspicious. But his viewers were mostly kids and kids like flashy over the top content.

    Anyone remember these on Xitter?

With a bot farm driving engagement, there'd be 1000s of comments in few hours. Probably mostly fake but still a lot of suckers reeled in everyday.

  • I don't get why this is getting pushback. It's weird to refuse to understand that other people have different tastes in media consumption.

Because you're lowering our collective IQ listening to cringe bullshit as entertainment.

  • The real "Ha" is that the west has everyone under the delusion that only China, Russia and India and others lie on their environmental statistics and they themselves are the stewards of fight against climate change. While keeping a low profile of doing the exact opposite.

Your strawman proves their peopaganda works.

"Meh! It sucks but you just wait until the other guy does something worse"

What an attitude to have. But whatever makes you sleep at night.

  • I know lemmy hates Apple, but if you want a phone where an advertising company isn’t constantly spying on everything you do and don’t want to fiddle with installing a different OS, it’s amazing.

Ignorance is truly bliss, isn't it?

    https://searchads.apple.com/

All the weird privacy invasive things like Siri (which I aways have disabled), image recognition/search, FaceID, and all that are on-device and send no data out

Did you check their source code? monitored their network traffic with mitm proxy? or just believed what Apple told ya?

Wanna try another talking point you "heard" to feel better about using Apple?
