I've got one that I treat like gold. They're a childhood friend that is a divorced alcoholic ex-con that went down the keto->carnivore->jordan-peterson->red-pill->gamer-gate pipeline, so not exactly a quality human. But I like to think I'm doing society a favour by keeping tabs on them.
I wish I had a better best friend, but I'm lucky to have even this one.
Similarly, it's if I really start looking at the scenery. Like zooming in on desks and and where textures meet and stuff to a) see all the worldbuilding details, and b) to see the level designer / env artist's work up closer.
I couldn't tell you the technical reasons, but yeah same concept: Break the source data in just the right way that the end result is interpret-able, but with interesting defects. There is a bit of an art to cutting and pasting and sculpting the data in just the right way. You get a feel for it after a while.
Ah, nihilocapitalism. Figures. I spent some years in that hole.
I've since learned that socialism, and by extension caring for others, actually leads to more personal gratification in the long term. But we always knew the high road was the best road.
Prospect (2018, movie) - It steals all the cool you associate with crunchy sci-fi short-stories, and gets away with it. Beautiful, lovingly detailed interior sets. Sparse exposition, leaving your snatching at any little turn of phrase or namedrop wondering if it's world-building, or just how the characters talk. Just the right length. Respect for not making it Yet Another Miniseries (YAM (this is my acronym, you'll never see it again)).
Also wow, I haven't read any reviews until now, and I'm glad I hadn't. If you like sci-fi just watch it. It's 1 and a 1/2 hours long. I've already told you too much.
I used it back in my Windows days. Out of the box, I think it's the only way to do rich text on Windows. Also (used to be anyway) one of the less resource intensive options.
You know, for when you've got Napster, Winamp (with visualisation), ICQ, and MSN all up and barely running. You don't want to have to run, like, WordPerfect at the same time! Your MP3s will start skipping :p
Alright, I definitely will! This looks exactly up my alley.
