  • The problem is that the amount of population doesn't match the way we live. You could create any ideal society and say that overpopulation isn't the issue, or create an underpopulated society and say the way we live isn't the issue.

You're saying "we just need to fix the biggest issues of our society in in order for overpopulation to be a non-issue, easy!"

  • I was thinking exactly this but with the Bible. Not because I like the Bible but because I'd love to see how AI interprets one of the most important books in human history.

But yeha, the Silmarillion is basically a Bible from another universe.

  • Did you read the article? This isn't for weapons or harm.

An OpenAI spokesperson said it maintains a ban against using its tools to build weapons, harm people or destroy property. It amended the military ban to allow for projects that are still “very much aligned with what we want to see in the world,” Anna Makanju, OpenAI’s vice president for global affairs, said last month.

    ...

But yeha... there's nothing stopping them from changing that stance in the future. But they haven't done it yet. The article is rage bait.

  • If we had a single time zone, we couldn't use "am" or "pm".

These mean ante-meridiem and post-meridiem. So, before midday and after midday. There would be no concept of midday linked to hours that could apply to all locations.

The most apropiate would be talking in 24h format. It wouldn't bother me if someone said I have to wake up at 13 and finish my job at 21. These are just numbers.

But yeha, it's still a bad idea because people would have to change calendars constantly because of daylight savings.

  • If you want to take this to a philosophical extreme so you understand my argument, is it possible to ever know anything with certainty?

What do you call evidence? Photos, videos, testimony... Do I personally trust in that evidence? Yes, it would be very unlikely to be fake, but many unlikely conspiracies have surfaced in the past.

  • I'm not saying it is a conspiracy, I was just explaining why people think it is.

But let's assume they did place the explosives, they wouldn't have to be in the place of impact, they would be located in many places, just like a controlled demolition.

Again, not saying that's what happened, just saying that the US is constantly doing sneaky stuff under the covers, which is why most conspiracies don't seem far fetched.

Do you really think it is insane to believe the US made up the moon landing as a propaganda campaign against Russia? I believe we went to the moon, but if they came up with official documents saying we didn't, I would be like "welp, US doing US things I guess"

  • I think it is because of the bizarre way the towers collapsed. Just like a controlled demolition looks like. The way the WTC7, that did not get hit by any plane, also collapsed. Supposedly because it caught on fire too.

I think this is really the cause of suspicion, it was just pretty bizarre. A lot of people came forward to explain that a fire couldn't brind such a massive structure down.

Also, the US is known for doing weird shit behind everyone's backs. The CIA is constantly doing shit like taking governments down or causing a drug crisis in black neighborhoods. You gotta admit the US agencies are sneaky in general, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they were actually responsible for the twin towers. There's no evidence but I'm pretty sure the CIA was somehow involved with the Nord Stream pipeline

  • You probably know about the Friend's actor that portrayed the Chandelier Bong character. He got into an accident and was prescribed with opioids. He got addicted and recently died of an opioid overdose.

Some doctors do it because they are paid to prescribe these drugs even when it isn't necessary. It's a mafia.

I broke a few bones riding my bike and I was given a very very mild pill. I remember feeling SO GOOD, my body felt like a marshmallow cloud melting on a rainbow. You know that feeling when it is cold and you get in a warm bed? Imagine that feeling nonstop. I couldn't wait for the time to take the next one. When they where over, it felt like there was an empty space in my brain. Like, that constant feeling of pleasure and wellness was just gone and it didn't feel right.

Thankfully I was aware of what was going on and fought through it.

Edit: remembering this was 100% a mistake. My brain is asking for the pills. It's crazy, it's been like 4 years.
