  • As I said to the last person who said the exact same thing, even at launch, the Wii U's numbers were sluggish. It was considered a decent start, but it still sold fewer units than the Wii in terms of opening week sales, and it launched just before the holidays. It's too early to say, but breaking the all-time record for opening day sales is a pretty good sign that this is going to be a different story than the Wii U.

For the record, I hope I'm wrong. I hope this is a flop for Nintendo, and it forces them to go back to making innovative hardware at more affordable prices with physical games that you actually own. That could still happen, but this very early data point doesn't point that way, and it is not indicative of a second Wii U.

  • Yeah, YouTube creators have really figured out that negativity will get more clicks than positivity, so everything is, "finished," or, "over," before it even comes out.

  • I don't know, but I know destroying every cell in your body at once is called suicide.

  • I did, and I remember enjoying it, but that was 10 years ago and I don't remember it that well. Did they have a teleporter?

  • As much as I hate what the Switch 2 represents for the industry, this has been a great reminder to ignore the hundreds of YouTube videos that proclaimed, "Switch 2 is DOA," and that this was, "Nintendo's downfall!"

  • Yeah, but you didn't shed them all at once. If the ship of Theseus exploded, and then they built a new one, the question wouldn't be, "Which is the true ship of Theseus?" it would be, "Hey, did you guys see Theseus' new ship?"

  • Mine were always hooked up to our PC. A lot of Age of Empires 2 played through those things.

  • I don't really see how. Trump could be playing it up a little to distract from the Medicare cuts, but I imagine he's genuinely pissed about the Epstien thing. That probably played really badly with his base. There's also no way Musk is doing this as a distraction; Telsa's stock is imploding because of this.

  • I think you're giving them too much credit. I'm pretty sure this really is just a senile old man feuding with a ketamine addict.

  • Ah, shit, I had those speakers.

  • The problem is that he's always been a stupid, self-important blowhard that tells rambling, pointless stories, so his incoherence is less pronounced. Biden, for all his faults, was a great orator and debator, even around 2016 to 2018, so his drop-off in the last five years was a stark shift.

  • I was thinking she'd be played by Elmo.

  • Schindler's List. Liam Neeson.

  • Kinda frustrating that Musk managed to decimate all of the government agencies that regulate his businesses through an illegal, extrajudicial agency, but because he didn't achieve the $2 trillion in cuts he never intended to make, there are now all the articles about Musk's, "flops," or, "failures." The guy got everything he wanted, and everyone else is worse off for it. Stop trying to spin this as a win.

  • Yeah, but Ezra Klein wrote a whole book about it. It would be rude not to use it for a few election cycles, even if we lose!

  • Ok, the way you framed your original comment was ambiguous and seemed to imply she lost because or her gender/race, and people on Lemmy were unwilling to admit that.

  • What you are describing is how people use the left lane during light traffic; a temporary labe to overtake one or several vehicles. During heavier traffic, most drivers don't do that. They use the left lane as a, "fast lane," rather than entering and exiting the middle lane repeatedly (which, strictly speaking, isn't how you're supposed to use that lane, but it's how the vast majority of drivers use it). That's usually when some asshole decides the, "fast lane," isn't fast enough and starts tailgating, forcing people to merge into the already crowded middle lane and slowing traffic even further.

  • What are these, "answers given," and who made you the arbiter of 2024 election analysis?
