  • Yes. I always have and always will because I always loved learning for its own sake.

Learning is what gets you through hard times when you don't know where your next meal is coming from.

Learning helps you get your next meal.

There is no hierarchy of needs. Your needs shift and change over time, and overlap most of the time.

Source: 40 years of life experience, survived abuse as a child and as an adult, escaped poverty and homelessness, and am now on track to return to college and own my own businesses, none of which would be possible without my education and desire to learn

  • Oh no, everyone else was, in fact, learning while you and the other whiners were either sleeping or smoking weed in the bathroom thinking they're above it all and that doing what everyone else was doing was beneath them.

  • I will very likely have my own businesses and a college degree in the next few years, so yes. Financially I will likely be able to afford to.

Even if not, if for whatever reason I needed to go to another continent, yes, I absolutely would make the time to do it even if I had to go on leave.

I have too much self-respect not to and you all need to learn that you have to make sacrifices in order to have a better life.

  • We clearly need something better.

I honestly am just going to go back to making my own websites and using instant messengers again. User-centered control is the way the internet was intended to be used so it's time we went back to that sort of thing. Obviously relying on other people simply doesn't work.

  • You're likely avoiding the news subs, and in that case, good on you, keep doing it. They're horrible. I am legit trying to figure out why the apologists aren't getting banned. There was one I saw last night arguing that it was unfair that Danny Masterson got 30 years for raping two women while some football star only got like 5 years for killing someone in a DUI, that Masterson should've got off easy too. It's the dumbest, most petulant shit imaginable.

  • Pssh, if you think that's bad, try tussling with the rape and pedo apologists inundating .world and the other popular instances. Which you can't escape, because the popular instances overshadow every other. That's a very quick way to lose your faith in humanity.
