  • It's been becoming like how they describe in Northern Europe over the last 15 years though. Things are better than the US in terms of statutory rights and work culture, but people are worse off in real terms than pre-2008. Especially so in the UK, which has become a low-wage high-CoL country for the overall majority of people.

  • Toyota hybrids are the most common taxis in urban areas of the UK, they absolutely eat up miles with no issues. If "every hybrid has super pricey transmission/clutch issues" then cab companies with razor thin margins wouldn't be using them, pretty simple logic

  • The UK has a poor investment culture. Funds are concentrated into unproductive areas like landbanking and housing development because they have the largest return in our ridiculous property market, while investment into actual emerging technology development is neglected and the UK ends up as a client nation to the US.

  • I went straight into it from playing a lot of BF4 recently and it really took me aback. Weapon balancing is pretty awful as well, SMGs are much too powerful- the Vector has no recoil and a high fire rate so people can kill you in less than a second with it.

  • They're right though. I'm into Battlebit Advanced at the moment and while it's a refreshing take on the Battlefield formula of combined arms gameplay, its also so much sweatier than the old Battlefields I came up on were.
