  • Even in baobab forest pictures they seem far enough apart for sunlight not to be an issue. I'd hazard either an environmental or animal caused adaptation (but I can't seem to find anything about why).

I'd also say for forests in general "crown shyness" means if they get similar enough height they usually avoid one another rather than compete.

  • Not really, financial collapse=back to barter system= "fine" metal has limited value. Copper, tin, iron sure but no one needs gold or silver in that scenario. The people who will want it will be limited to those with excess and they'll know no one else wants it.

If you can't eat it or use it it isn't worth anything with the world in that state. There's wonderful things called notarized (or in this case just witnessed or just trusted) deals regarding situations where someone might want/need something they cannot get with their resources at the time. Things such as land or labor can be used as collateral. Currency requires some sort of centralized organization to say it has worth. Financial collapse means that would take a long time to return.

  • The great depression took about 7y for investors to be break even and about 25 for actual point recovery in the Dow (more dividends than straight stock increase back then). The 08/09 recession was point recovered in about 4-5y on the stock market. If the country collapses your money is worthless regardless of where you stored it. If the country recovers you've made it ahead a bit.

  • This is a relatively gentle "find out" from them too. If they decide to actually be mean we are super boned and 2/3 of the country will deserve it either for voting for it or for not voting against it. It's only fucking April and we have to make it to January for the next congressional session...

  • If we don't take these nazis out by the roots they'll have all 9 soon enough. The liberal justices aren't that young and the conservatives keep on doing whatever they feel in the moment logic be damned. Sure they're against this right now but they also gave him sweeping immunity. I don't trust any of the conservatives to stand against the emperor they've created for any real length of time.

So many different things need to happen for the country to get somewhere half decent much less actually good. The modern Republicans and "moderate" democrats are symptomatic of much greater issues.

  • In the 5y since the pandemic started no proof of a lab leak has turned up. The existence of these covid viruses was already known in the nearby bat population and even zoonosed to humans a few times.

This is entirely contrary to your false claims that scientists couldn't find a link between animals and covid. So yes, it is the point. Lableak was a theory at the start one I even hypothesized myself. However, the data has consistently shown otherwise so unless new data gives the hypothesis any credence it is only political propaganda to give any credibility to the leak theory.

  • I don't disagree that it exists but I'm against purposefully expanding it. "People already have colds why not spread the flu?"

We've already outsourced our creativity and now we're outsourcing our relationships? It's just so abhorrent to me.

This was a very on the nose publication 4 years before the covid-19 outbreak started. Further the viral genome doesn't show any sign of genetic modification which leaves various genomic signatures. Stop pushing conspiracy theories unless you have actual proof.

Republican "scientists" pushing this theory are as trustworthy as oil and gas "scientists" denying manmade climate change.

  • At least dildos and fleshlights don't pretend to be anything more than a toy. No one is that emotionally invested in their sex toys. They serve a physical purpose and that's kinda it.

When you get into real-dolls and using this type of AI. There are mental health issues that are not helped and probably worsened by the existence of these things. Human connections to non-"real" things is weird af. It's a one-sided relationship until the AI is capable of breaking up and leaving not just getting powered down and restarted.

  • Because there is a perception that the VP should "balance" the ticket in some ways for the general. Its why Obama had Biden, why Biden had Harris, and why Harris had Walz (idr Clinton's). They try to calculate about what demographics are missing from the presidential candidate and get someone who fits enough of them that the racism/sexism/ageism and therefore lack of votes towards a candidate for those reasons isn't the reason they lose. It's why Obama had Biden, McCain had Palin, etc. The facist cult doesn't have to bother because their voters don't care.
