@spiffmeister oh, I see. Well, technically, a prime-minister is a different thing, so you're right in this regard, but yeah, practically no one has been a prime minister for very long. It's a bit of a complicated thing

@jarfil Not a single sane democracy allows for more than two terms (usually 8-10 years in total) during peace time. Russia is a special case and is undemocratic nevertheless. Trump getting a third term likely opens the road for the demise of the American democracy.

@alyaza I don't think I can do much about Musk from where I live, and I am happy to be in this position. I never used Xitter, nor do I ever have any plans to do so, there's no Tesla factory, no Tesla operations, just a bunch of cars here&there but that's it (didn't see any cybercrap as far as I am concerned). I do hope you'll get rid of that oligarch and his aide on the White House, Donald Trump, though. Almost one month (minus a few hours, at the moment of writing) have passed since Jan 20, and it's already too much!!!

Don't know much about Piefed, but it seems like it has some better moderation tools than Lemmy.

Mbin is a more (old) Reddit-like platform, also federated and self-hostable, which also has microblog capabilities.

Mbin was forked from Kbin sothe ethos of that one was similar.

Lotide is a more spartan bulletin board, kind of like Hacker News (but development of it stopped though).

All of them use the same standard for federation, so you can browse and post to these communities straight from Lemmy.

How are custom ROMs generally installed nowadays? I tried to find one for a phone and to check for a way to install it, but to no avail. I did install a few almost 10 years ago, but back then tutorials on XDA were pretty clear.
