  • @dogerwaul They'll probably just brand it as a sales platform and not care about sellers anymore. They'll get some cut from every sale, and along with the ad business they'll have lots of profit.

  • for Windows 10

Thank God. I was afraid because I use OneNote for work.

  • @ForgottenFlux such a great feature. Will definitely use it next time I'm bombing some Houthi rebels.

  • You can find good stardicts of just about every dictionary on the internet if you look hard enough

I'm just amazed by this. Can you point me to some of the more common places where one could start? I could really use some new dictionaries 😁

  • As a Romanian: please don't do it. Our justice system is rotten to the core. They'll find a way to prolong the trial long enough to avoid detention and the accusations to be prescribed. It happened before with high level corruption cases, and I'm pretty afraid it will happen again. My only hope is that we will extradite them to the UK, and they'll handle the case properly.

Just to get an idea of how bad things are: prosecutors did not bother the brothers and their network initially until someone reported the whole thing to the US embassy in Bucharest.

So do you want to have the Tates deported or prosecuted?

  • @coldsideofyourpillow Any idea how to get in touch with their support team or something? I created an account a few hours ago, and I still haven't received the confirmation email.

  • @noodlejetski Yes, I saw OP said that. I just answered on the question of how I do it at the end.

  • @lemmydividebyzero I'm sure that there are solutions. But I'm doing it via my regular notes in markdown. I'm just typing the list before I go out or whenever some things finish (like detergent) and they're right there. Whenever I put something in my cart I just add a checkmark next to it (I make my list using checkmarks next to the items with [ ]).

  • @PerfectDark Would I be able to connect to a Revolt server via XMPP?

  • @foremanguy92 They probably found no other way to monetize its development.

  • @Sauerkraut true 🙁 forgot about that. I feel bad about you, really!

  • @remington Bro is a national security threat. You should impeach him and charge him with high treason asap.

  • @Powderhorn I think the incentive is there. The new chancellor of Germany is very americano-sceptic (given the current situation) and I do not think France will stand aside. Denmark is facing a possible future aggressor so it's more likely to also push for europenism and other states might follow suit as well. Right now we're caught off-guard indeed.

  • @Skullgrid yes, they are. I don't contradict you. But in their opinion it really is better to be a dictatorship than a democracy.

The only solution is to just keep fighting for your values in every way possible, as I said, and show people that these are objectively better than what they crave for (or, if objectivity is not possible, subjectivity can help as well)

  • @Mee it just seems like that. In reality, everything in the world has been just someone's interests - because that's how the world was built. In fact, good and evil are just subjective terms. What may be good for you, it might be bad for somebody else. Your evil might be someone else's good and vice-versa.

I think you should think the things into more of what you care the most, what your values are, what is important for you overall. And then you'll see the bigger picture: people are just having different values than you, they think that the values you believe in are not theirs. And I am somewhat in the same situation as you - let me give you an example:

Among the values I care the most are democracy, personal freedoms, the ability to voice out (politely) your own opinion; you'd think I am a normal person, that no sane person would be thinking otherwise. Well, what if I told you, you're wrong! There was a poll last year in my country where 40% of the people said they would agree with my country returning under a dictatorship. Forty freaking percent!!! This is mind-boggling, right? That's what I also think.

What would be the solution to a problem like this be like? Well, you could join the crowd, that would be the most obvious, right? Be one with the majority, mindlessly agree on what they say, do what they do. But I bet you would never see your place in there. Instead, I think you should keep staying true to your own values and beliefs and look for people that share these. Speak to them, understand them yourself as well and who knows, maybe you can do something about it. 😁

  • @remington hot take: I think Ukraine will actually allow European companies access to rare earth minerals, as long as they also offer some production facilities locally - this will be especially useful for military purposes. Europe will also take advantage of locally produced Lithium batteries, necessary for cars and various electronics, and this in turn will make Ukraine even more attractive to Europe as a whole and will also be willing to make more concessions to Ukraine.

If I'm not mistaken, the US already has access to various rare earth minerals, that's why for them, it is not so important and they can bluff. Zelenskyy just wanted to raise some interest for Trump in this whole rare earth thing in exchange for protection, but Trump saw the opportunity, and he's now trying to twist this to his own interest (i.e. give me all your minerals, or you'll no longer get support from us).

Ukraine is very lucky to have an extremely clever president who won't easily give in. I guess the memory of the whole Budapest Memorandum fiasco also helps.
