I agree, but the thin client doesn't allow you to view Netflix in 4K (maybe not even 1080p) and I guess Prime video too and others.
Unfortunately Microsoft Edge is needed :(
...or is there any news about this?
I've settled for a Lenovo M720 (tiny PC) with Windows.
I've tried them both and I find Actual Budget a bit better.
It also has an importer (directly from banks) which Firefly III has, but as a separate app and it's not so smooth to use.
Have a look at the Fujitsu Futro S720/920.
They are dirty cheap on eBay (from 20/30€) and you can add a PCI Ethernet card (single/dual/quad gigabit, but I'm sure there are even 2.5/10 Gbps) and you'll have your router ready with less than 100€!
Unless you clear cookies constantly, you need to login just once in a while, where is this huge headache?
Password get stolen, 2FA protect you from that.
If you opt to store 2fa keys in Bitwarden you'd definitely want to enable 2fa for your Bitwarden account though, which brings us back to the same issue again.
With the risk of getting locked out if all your devices get logged out of Bitwarden! 🙈
I use Wireguard for everything except a couple of ports that are open directly to Internet for Traccar (fleet management) because the GPS trackers don't support anything in the middle and I use Cloudflare Zero trust tunnel for Nextcloud (without any other security layer because the Android and Windows app don't support them) because my family use it too.
The Wireguard tunnel is always on both on my PCs and on my Android smartphone.
I don't see it as one OR the other. Nextcloud is not a backup.
I would install unRAID or OMV with SnapRAID (both are good for later adding disks of any size) and Nextcloud as a container so you can access your data everywhere AND back it up!
Remember (as someone already mentioned), the 3-2-1 backup rule.
When will the Commission designate the first gatekeepers?
Potential gatekeepers meeting the quantitative thresholds established by the DMA had until 3 July 2023 to notify their core platform services to the Commission. The Commission will have 45 working days from the notification date to make an assessment as to whether the undertaking in question meets the thresholds and designate gatekeepers, at the latest by 6 September 2023. Following their designation, gatekeepers will have six months to comply with the requirements in the DMA, at the latest by 6 March 2024.
The only way this monopoly could be killed is EU government intervention.
It's already happeniny with the DMA (Digital Markets Act): the gatekeeper (WhatsApp, Apple with iMessage, Facebook with Messages, etc.) will have to enable interoperability with external application upon requests.
So by March 2024 (not sure about the date) we should be able to chat with people that use WhatsApp, iMessage, Facebook Message and other big services (that are considered gatekeeper) through Signal/Telegram/other apps!
Dude, did you read the original post???
