  • I had the same experience.

    Up to room 46, it felt like every failed run built up to your eventual success, like any good roguelite. You failed, but at least gained a bit of knowledge, a permanent upgrade or improvement to the state.

    Then you get to a point where each run is less and less rewarding and eventually give up. There's nothing left to learn or upgrade, it's now a fight with the RNG.

  • My headcanon is that when a character "dies" in battle, it actually means they are in critical condition, requiring more powerful healing magic or items to get them back on their feet.

    Of course, there are some exceptions. In Phantasy Star 2 and Cyber Knight the characters die for real and are replaced with clones.

  • My theory is that C-suites are actually using "AI efficiency gain" as an excuse for laying off workers without scaring the shareholders.

    "I didn't lay off 10% of the workforce because the company is failing. It's because... uhmmmm... AI! I have replaced them with AI! Please give us more money."
