  • I wish I had a DM that cared that much about my character to incorporate it into the game. They usually just seem to want to railroad us through the pre-written campaign or adventure we’re playing.

  • I detest the cold. I’m skinny enough that I have to wear long underwear basically constantly as it gets colder. The one potential upside to the environmental hellscape we’re creating for ourselves is that I may be able to stop doing that. Otherwise, winter is just annoying as hell, it’s such a stupid ass season.

  • We’ll have a big environmental 9/11 moment where a major American city becomes permanently uninhabitable and then there will alot of handwringing about “What could we have done!?” Then we’ll start getting lukewarm serious about it for maybe a few years, but by that point it’s way too late.

  • I really want to like AI, I’d love to have an intelligent AI assistant or something, but I just struggle to find any uses for it outside of some really niche cases or for basic brainstorming tasks. Otherwise, it just feels like alot of work for very little benefit or results that I can’t even trust or use.

  • I’ve made my peace with either result. If Harris wins, I’ll assume it’ll be relative status quo and a continuation of the last four years, a slow-motion decline. If Trump wins, our deaths are assured and everything falls to shit that much sooner. There may be some personal benefits and opportunities I can try to take advantage of before we all die, but none of it will really matter in the end. My personal romantic life is in such a shitty spot right now that I honestly don’t really care anymore.

  • Assuming Harris wins, same way we went back to normal after 2020 and Jan 6. Those people that lost will go back to being the same jackass people they were before, but there won’t be any “popular uprisings” this time around. Jan 6 was the best shot they had when Trump was in power and could’ve conceivably tried something, now they have nothing.

Trump will be diminished, his court cases start piling on again and he hopefully dies of natural causes while taking a shit on a golden toilet. How MAGA “moves on” after Trump is the bigger question. Do the moderates take back control of the Republican party, or do they become even more unhinged?

Shit goes to hell if Trump wins and takes the presidency or if he gets Seal Team-Six’d by Biden before he even gets into office, which he apparently has the legal standing to do, but likely won’t because Democrats are dumb and will “take the high road” into fascism.

  • Boardgaming and RPGs kind of tie into my profession in design. I see my job as organizing information, so when I play games I’m just naturally working out ways to present the information for myself or other players as efficiently as possible. Or I’m writing/designing homebrew material because for some reason I get inspired sometimes.

My physical “hobby” is walking/exercise, though I have hard time calling that a hobby, it’s just something I do without thinking about it, it’d be like calling eating a hobby, it’s just something I do that seems important for my survival.

  • Grew up in CT doing trick or treating and I’ve never even heard of that tradition before, that sounds like alot of work for everyone involved. Even after I came to OH, the idea of calling it “Beggar’s night” still seems wrong.

  • Everytime I get sick I think about this. “I am going to appreciate my life so much more when I’m not sick.” I appreciate not being sick for about five minutes before it just goes back to being whatever.

  • Occasionally I block users that are extremely bad for one reason or another. Honestly though, I have to block far more communities than users, and it’s mostly because of foreign languages. I have nothing against these communities, but if I can’t read any of their posts, they’re just noise. I’ve tried tinkering around with language settings, but for whatever reason I still seem to see at least one new one a week, and so I block it to clean up my feed. It just seems like something that should be easy, I’m a dumb American who only wants to see English communities, how hard is it to filter by language, or is this just a problem with my mobile client (Voyager)?

  • Minimum wage shouldn’t ever be a specific amount, it should be a percentage tied to some other economic metric, so that as inflation or cost of living rises, wages increase with it as well. This BS of having to wait for out-of-touch millionaire Congress members to approve of minimum wage increases is ridiculous.
