  • Being able to see inside empty containers has its uses because you can always check if you can see into it and know something’s in it. Knowing IF something has contents can be plenty useful.

  • I would just bring an e-reader preloaded with Wikipedia and a solar charger. It would be treated as a relic for millennia long after it stopped working and would probably cause a collapse in the time-space continuum, but that’s just how I roll. 😎

  • And that’s why if you’re in that position, you should have already shared your public key with them long in advance and your private key stays encrypted on an air-gapped laptop running Tails + CoreBoot. The message stays encrypted and you’re the only one with the physical device and knowledge to decipher it.

But that all comes down to security vs convenience. I’m super glad passkeys are starting to become available in a lot more places. They’re super convenient and if you use a password manager responsibly with a hardware key, they’re just as secure as the locks on your house.

Which is to say, not very, because ultimately nothing beats a $5 wrench.

  • I speak from experience with them. You will bring them everywhere. They hide in everything they can. I went through two months of dealing with them and they are hell.

If someone came over knowing they had a bed bug problem and brought them into to my apartment, I’d make sure it came out of their pocket to fix it.

They can take weeks and multiple exterminator visits to fully get rid of them. Make the landlord fix it or find another place (and take precautions not to bring them to your next place!)

  • The fact that Windows devs seem to not know how to run tasks hidden and in the background always bothers me. I’m sure it’s the fault of Windows itself, but Linux doesn’t open jack until I tell it to. With all the extra helper programs needs in the tray to run all the proprietary hardware, I about lose it with all the shit popping up to yell at me.

  • The opposite of love is not hate, but apathy.

Truly hating something takes passion, energy and time out of your day. It also taught me that for masters of personal interest, if you truly need to end a relationship with someone, you simply stop responding. It’s far more effective than loudly proclaiming what you feel they do wrong. That will take far more away from you than if you cut ties.

  • We are literally all the chosen one. The Matrix wasn’t there to teach us that Neo was The One. It was to teach us that anyone could be.

The only way to see change in your world is to act on it. Maybe you can’t fix politics, but you can help loved ones. You can plant trees. You can donate your money or time.

Even if there are others out there who have more resources to do more and aren’t doesn’t mean you can’t make yourself feel better by making the small contributions.

And even if you tell yourself that you’re just doing those things to make yourself feel better and they don’t right away, the important thing is your action. That’s all anyone else can see.
