  • Trevor’s speech following the mission actually has a decent amount of meat to it for that exact reason. He makes a valid point and the mission is used to demonstrate his point.

He points out how the guy was completely willing to give info, but because everyone is so torture happy, they make a game out of it the whole time (yes, I’m aware), cracking jokes and totally enjoying the guy’s pain.

I really hope the social commentary that permeates Los Santos is still there in GTA VI. Based on what we got in RDR2, I have no reason to doubt this game is going to be scathing on the current political climate. Time will tell.

  • I just replayed GTA V after the update and I forgot how bad I feel on the torture mission. But then I remembered what the guy looked like and only had to deal with two cutscenes worth. Also got a great line of dialogue if you shout the target early.

    “What the fuck, Michael!?”

“It just felt like that was the guy.”

    “How do you know.”

    “I had a hunch. It’ll check out.”

  • So I’m also in this crowd, and I’ve also given my gender as a cishet man lots of consideration. I genuinely don’t identify in the real world ultimately as a woman and don’t really wish I’d been born female. I’m more in the crowd of it just being a different experience or perspective that isn’t otherwise available to me.

If I could easily flip between two universes where I could be either man or woman, I’d be interested, but only if it was reversible. I wouldn’t want it to be permanent.

And this isn’t from the perspective of being gender-fluid either. I wouldn’t want any of that in my current life as it exists right now.

  • It took me like a month before I was comfortable working with them on my server, but once I finally started figuring it out, I doubt I’ll ever run another server without it haha. All hail docker!

  • Except that a PDF isn’t dynamic. You’d be locked to whatever the page/text ratio was on every unique screen size. Not to mention all of the accessibility you lose because you can’t use a dyslexia-friendly font or increase the font size for bad eyesight.

That’s all before we get into the performance hits. EPUB certainly has its place in the market.

  • run it locally in a docker container with no dev knowledge needed

I wouldn’t put docker in front of a nontechnical person. It was a stretch to convince my dad to watch movies on my Jellyfin server because he would be “connecting to another system” which he found concerning. I can’t imagine beginning to explain docker or how to use it to someone who just wants to download and use an app.

Not to say OP can’t figure it out or isn’t technical enough, but I would just hesitate to suggest docker as a beginner-friendly “no dev knowledge” solution.

  • I just recently played through Catalyst and I know it was divisive, but I’m firmly in the “I wish it had another 6 months to cook and it would have been a banger” crowd. The only major issues I had were with unreliable parkour, which I bet they could have resolved. It was so close to being a winner if it weren’t for that.

  • Do we have any voices as powerful as those in WWII? I have yet to hear someone with a truly powerful place in media speak a heartfelt plea to the Americans because the media has been bought. Even if there was someone who could reach out and speak a message that people could hear, they would never let it air in a place where it mattered.
