Yea makes sense. Network and cable TV in the US is and always has been about 50/50 ads to content. It’s horrendous to watch. And probably explains why some sizable number of Americans will always pay to go ad free if it’s an option.
Edit: and not be too concerned about a 10s bumper ad or two. Altho don’t get wrong they are increasingly obnoxious.
I think you deleted your comment. But I don’t think it’s weird at all. If what you say is true than it makes the impact of the choice gap between older and younger voters even more important. Clearly younger voters had to come out in massive force and extremely aligned to overcome the huge conservative bias of their older voting group peers in those elections.
I’m not sure the voting demographics support that assertion. More like in a few elections boomers will got overturned. And the backlash is always severe.
It’s not that government doesn’t have the power to grant rights. It’s assumed by default that if the right wasn’t enumerated here (in the constitution) then it exists by default. None of that bars either the constitution (via amendment) or law (so long as it doesn’t contradict the constitution) from granting or conferring or even restricting/limiting rights (again as long as it doesn’t contradict the constitution). All done via the consent of the governed (ie via elected government). We seem to have forgotten we have the power to “perfect” our laws and governing document.
Actually not true. I just set up a device for a friend the other day and absolutely skipped adding any payment info and was able to download apps. Why are you spreading so much misinformation?
I’m not one of these Apple salespeople, but I was a latecomer to iPhone. Started with the 12. It was the first device I owned as far back as I remember that didn’t feel like it was lagging/dying at the end of year one. And consequently I didn’t replace it as I had with years of Pixels, Nexus, Samsungs, etc prior. I think their hardware design is better. And I think the hardware + software tightness results in extending the life of the hardware. And I say this still wishing I could get the new Pixel devices - but I simply haven’t felt that feeling of my phone becoming irrelevant as much as I did with my various android devices.
Same story repeated with tablets -> iPads seem to last forever / until the wheels fall off. I’ve owned Galaxy Tabs, Nexus 12s, etc -> they do not have the same longevity period. It’s sad honestly I wish that weren’t true.
I have a MacBook Pro 2013 that still runs like new (one battery replacement along the way). I can’t even imagine what a 10 year old Dell or Lenovo or HP would be right now. A paperweight?
Totally understand. I came back for mine, cleaned it all up, patched, painted and lost all back plating. But again, I totally feel your pain.
