  • Ah. So, P≠NP, but NP=F. This elevator is inside an atom.

  • This is a rhetorical trick. We do not need a technical definition of "assault weapon". We need a legal one. The legal definition here was written by the Illinois legislature and seems to be upheld by the courts.

If someone asks you for a technical definition for a gun law, see if the relevant legal definition exists.

  • Oh cool! Another Thing. I love how many of my minor problems are solved just by buying another Thing. My home is now a perfect curation of all Things I own to fix my minor problems. Do you need a little more power from your headphone jack? Get this Thing! Keep it with you; it's not much help after you lose it. What's that? You don't even listen at full volume using the jack? Don't you understand. It sounds slightly better. You idiots won't know headroom if came up and bit you on the face.

In short, I kinda like my built-in headphone jack.

  • Me. Sorry not much to add. I just like it.

  • Even if the monetary damage is comparable, not sure if it would be worth getting prosecuted.

  • Yes, please. I'm still using MessagEase. I want to like thumbkey, but it's missing a few features that are already implemented in MessagEase. Long pressing for numerals is another feature I miss.

  • I've always heard that twitch is full of softcore was because it was not blocked in various jurisdictions (schools, countries, whatever) that otherwise block porn. I guess this will be a way to test that. If twitch is blocked at the same level as chaturbate, will softcore on twitch be as profitable?

  • Wait, that SirSamuel?

  • I simply put "I would like an ADHD screening" on the Other Concerns line of the check-in form for a regular doctor visit. So my Primary Care Provider asked me some questions, and gave me a referral for psychiatry.

Have you already talked to your PCP about it? Because if not, a referral might open some doors for coverage for testing.

  • This feels a little more, I don't know, direct than car culture mentality. Buying a Telsa, at least in past few years, feels like direct support to one person. I don't see people with expensive sportscars and assume they think the CEO of the manufacturer is a hero. Telsa buyers probably don't feel that way, but stuff like this leads me to believe they do.

  • Funny how you see gaps. I feel they overlap. For decades Like 31-34 is early 30s, 33-37 is mid, and 38 39 are late. (Late being a smaller interval because everyone likes it that way.)

I think the about the same proportions work for centuries.

But I definitely see gaps in being young, old, and middle-age.

  • You know if they changed a meter to equal a yard, they would have to change what an amp is. Americans use amps. So it just bites us in the ass anyway.

Edit: I just remembered my definition of amp is out of date. I mean, it might still change, but not as directly as I thought.

  • Ambiguity is fine. It would tedious to the point of distraction to enforce writing math without ambiguity. You make note of conventions and you are meant to realize that is just a convention. I'm amazed at the people who are planting their feet to fight for something that what they were taught in third grade as if the world stopped there.

You're right though. We should definitely teach different conventions. But then what would facebook do for engagement?

  • I had Zoidberg "(/)(,;;,)(/)" for awhile. And, yeah, not all devices liked that.

  • When I went to college, I was given a reverse Polish notation calculator. I think there is some (albeit small) advantage of becoming fluent in both PEMDAS and RPN to see the arbitrariness. This kind of arguement is like trying to argue linguistics in a single language.

Btw, I'm not claiming that RPN has any bearing on the meme at hand. Just that there are different standards.

This comment is left by the HP50g crew.

  • For emphasis:

The decision is not an agreement to hear Smith's case, but rather an agreement to review his petition faster than normal.

So any score guessing is a bit premature. They have not been granted cert.
