Just to the extent that I’ll be able to log in to Teams with my account the same way others can log into Zoom. Because I’m usually already logged into my Microsoft account in my browser I generally have problems.
This is a big deal for me. I’ve got a MS account for Azure but I use Google suite for email etc. I can’t sign into teams at all with the account that matches my email address because it’s not a 365 account. I end up looking very unprofessional struggling to log into a Teams meeting hosted by a prospective client.
The smart features help keep the cost down. I’m absolutely that you should never connect a smart TV to the internet. I learned that the hard way when a config change on my router slowed the UI on my Samsung TV to a crawl. Unplugging the Ethernet fixed it. Afterwards I switched to Apple TV and have been overall happy since.
I get tired of the argument from conservatives that the US was founded on Christian ideals, because it wasn’t. Instead it was designed to resemble Christianity, much like how Christmas co-opted Saturnalia. The US Civic religion was meant to bring together disparate groups of people with a common belief system. At some point I think this religion actually replaced Christianity in the US. If those J6 rioters had looked up they would’ve seen the Apotheosis of Washington and realized that’s who they are actually worshipping.
I don’t agree. It depends how the song was ripped and how the original was mastered. I did so much A/B testing at the time and found I couldn’t tell the difference between VBR 256 AAC and the CD. 128k mp3 sounded worse, 320k mp3 is pretty safe, but there were a lot of improvements to LAME over the years so newer files sound better. The biggest difference is the mastering. Generally 1980s reissues of 1970s analog masters sound worst, 1990s is best, 2000s everything got remastered to make it loud and crush dynamic range. The only real innovation since is Dolby Atmos on Apple Music which really brings alive the promise of 1970s quadraphonic.
I think you can use iTunes as a catch all for sales of digital files, including bandcamp. As opposed to a physical disc or a subscription. FWIW I was just looking this up on the RIAA website and you can run reports by year or year over year comparing media options. It’s really interesting to see which year each format peaked. Eg 8track 1978, cassette 1989, CD 2000, digital file 2012. It doesn’t include limewire /napster (non-revenue) so the unit counts are a bit depressed. I wish it included pre-iPod mp3 players and blank CD sales.

In a single payer scenario like they have in France, hospitals are private but patients are not forced to use a specific hospital chain because that’s the only provider that their insurance covers. The government acts as a counterbalance to try to keep prices low since they are the ones paying, and to keep quality higher since that’s another way of reducing cost for the outcome. A private vertical insurance/provider is incentivized to increase prices and reduce quality to improve profit.
I don’t know if it should. Linux is obviously important to the Chinese. The foundation also has employees from Intel, VMWare, Meta, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and all the Japanese electronics manufacturers on the board. If we are so afraid of China maybe we should pull all of our manufacturing back.
