Took me a good few months if not a year to get through this book but it was worth it. I'd say the concept was great but the execution was lacking. Still a great book though.
Is it shiny though? Last time I used riot.im or vector.im or whatever the client was named, it was no less clunky than converse.js. Nowhere close to, say, Discord or Telegram.
That was in year 201x, I'm sure they got better since then, but that was the time when they gained popularity
Warm your water to the highest temperature your boiler allows (must be at least 70C iirc) and when the water warms up, run all hot water faucets at full-open for 2 minutes. That should kill the smelly bacteria.
Source: instruction manual of my boiler. They recommend to do it a few times a year.
Maybe it's just me being bad at programming, but I used to do the right-hand style of programming and usually ended with wrong abstractions that were holding back development as requirements changed.
