Great summary, I have used Intel most of my life but my current new project will have an AMD CPU. Intel feels out of touch BUT... I'm glad they are jumping to GPUs, although late it's nice to have more competition.

I have a Flydigi gamepad and I can use a virtual machine with tiny11 to change the configuration. The connection isn't super stable but for the few times I have to do it, it works.

What you want to know it seems is if ERN succeeded as a multiplayer and I get the feeling you are comparing it to FPS, but they have very different markets. ERN made good money and satisfied the Soul-Like gamers Multiplayer addiction. Elden Ring is also not massive when compared to Counter Strike but in proportion ERN is very successful. The learning curve for the Souls-Like games is usually also a detractor for many.

There are many ways to do it, I have never used Steam like that but never heard of a ban due to cracked games. My preferred way would be using Lutris, but I have not used it in a while.

The general concept is:

1. Create a container/app in Lutris, selecting your Wine preferred version.
2. Open the container (so that it creates the directory files)
3. Copy the contents of the game into the container
4. Point the Lutris container to the exe and done.
5. Run game

These steps are not precise but the general overview. You can even switch Wine versions if needed without the need to reinstall.

I get what you are saying but the note is about the developer dropping the Steam Deck supported Anti-Cheat. They were never developing for Linux, they just switched Anti-Cheat provider.

They have 200 players as 24 peak, all time high was 12k 7 years ago... Unless they had critical cheating issues this makes no sense to me, why would limit your game reach further.
