  • This is why I really wish the "control servers" were selfhostable on the open web. Kind of similar to how you can self host a relay node for Rustdesk.

  • I've wondered if you could even if it was slowly build up a database of traffic infromation and have it be an opt in feature. Like I know in general in my city when things get busiser so I know when to avoid certain parts.

  • One of the only times I have seen a "customer states" thing be right.

  • I personally use Mullvad and find it to be great with there view on privacy and sense I can create a new "account" anytime I want.

  • I use Tuta but it's what convinced me to buy a domain. So if/when I switch providers the majority of contects will not notice.

  • This makes me so happy I'm using Graphine OS. Also the entire idea that there "not storing my history" I don't trust them. They have already been sued multiple times over keeping ingogneto data.

  • But you see, it will be doing so in a predictable way. Unlike a Tesla that will change its mind at any point.

  • I think it's mainly two things:

    • people fear reverse phone numbers look up tools more then the equivalent tools for social media.
    • It's viewed as less replaceable then just blocking somone on social media

I don't really agree with either of these but it is what seems to be common.

  • The unproven claims is the key part here. Also the point of "terminating an account would punish every user in a household" is important as well.

You can fine someone for piracy if you want. As long as they have the standard legal protections. But cutting access is excessive.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

How does multi-player support fit into theStop Killing Games Initiative

  • This is such a case of excessive force. You did not need to literally blow the door off at 6am. Also ofc no one heard the announcement to come out at 6am.

I almost garrentee this was an intimidation technique. I feel like if you actually wanted to arrest him and not just scare his wife and children, you could have surveilled him and easily figured out that he left for work.

    Pathetic

  • I can't tell you if you should or not. I can tell you I DO NOT have it enabled and mapping service work just fine. Also I would recommend using something like CoMaps and not Google Maps.

  • Cars get damaged, it's part of USING a GOD DAMN CAR. To me if something is damge that is invisible to a normal human eye and doesn't impact the function of it, it's part of renting cars.

  • Yea, you have now been infected with the coperate.

  • "Better then ever" is a bold claim. I switched to GrapheneOS and guess what it stopped working. Why? Because Google decided not to make it work on custom OS's anymore like a year ago.

To my understanding there is NO real technical reason for this. If I can have Signal work cross platform (a real secure messenger) then RCS can as well.

  • From what I've heard it's often better to have a non messy divorce and try to be nice enough for your kids. If you try to fake it, it generally doesn't work out.

Kids are smarter then many adults seem to think.

  • First everyone always does. Second there is always a chance you do want to hide with a regime change.

  • Good, they better stick to that and protect it with force unless ICE has a WARRENT SIGNED BY A JUDGE.

  • This sounds like something I would tell my friends as a "joke" when we where all very tired.

  • A paramilitary group that we like to call the police shot smoke grenades at protesters legally protesting as there first amendment allows them to.

  • I HATE this if I am PAYING for a product then I shouldn't get a god damn ad.
