  • Have we read the same article? Because that article simply claims that Romanians have an air of superiority and that it was a banal drawing and then lists a bunch of reactions from some Romanians and also brings up the fact that Halep is of aromanian descent, despite it being irrelevant. Unless they think aromanians and the romani are the same people, which they're not. Sounds unapologetic and no explanation given for the reinforcement of the romanians = gypsies stereotype.

They could've at least framed it as a "le monde" title or something to imply that it's the media framing her as such.. there's nothing there to imply those are other people's words..

So I can make a comic of Obama with some fried chicken and some watermelon at a desk with a plaque that says POTUS and just be like "it's a joke! I'm making fun of the racists!" ? That doesn't sound right to me, but whatever.

  • How does that story portray dark skin as worse than light? What am I missing? Just sounds like the dude showed the kids that even if you change the skin color, you're still the same person.

Or do you mean because the white kids are bullying the black one and not vice-versa? Cause yeah.. that might not be perfect nowadays, but it's still just trying to teach the kids not to bully the immigrants just because they're different. Guess they could've gone for something more neutral like some animals or something, but c'mon..

  • Man, I'm so sad about the warcraft movie.. partly because I agree with you and I think it was pretty good and it deserved sequels but also partly because it feels like it could've been better? Felt a bit hard to follow at times, and I remember reading some of Duncan Jones' tweets that implied the final cut wasn't his decision and that there was quite a bit of footage left out. Shame... They should try a tv series.

  • Blocking shields you from seeing their comments. But others will still see them. You'll be unable to call them out the second time they lie if you do it like that. Which is fair enough if that's what you wanna do, but it's not a solution to the current issue that op is describing.

  • The person claiming every piece of negative information about russia and china and other similar places is a usa psyop is now quoting rules against a post trying to make people aware of misinformation?! Color me surprised.

  • "free opinions"... I guess you get what you pay for..

Anyway, it's not hypocrisy because you're comparing apples to ai generated articles. He was the CEO of a company responsible for denying billions of dollars worth of life saving medicine. Comparing that to one murder is silly. Saying they both deserve the same punishment is silly.

  • Again, yes really. I'm sorry you're offended, but that's just how some things are. When you don't understand something, it's not because you're stupid, it's because you haven't tried to understand it. And you've literally admitted to not trying to understand outer wilds.

And that's that. It's fine, you don't have to. But every thing you think you know or feel about it is made up, since you've never actually experienced it. Imagine going on Google maps and rating some place you've never been to. Or those people that give ratings to books and movies that aren't out yet. That's you in this situation. And well.. now THAT is something I'll never understand.

  • Yes, really. There's an exception to literally every single rule. And this game was an exception to many people's rules. Could be yours too. You won't know until you experience it. You can pretend you know what it is all you want meanwhile, but that's all it is, pretending.

  • Oh, oh. I can pitch in! I've met 5, personally. Every single one of them inherited the position from their parents or had a head start by having wealthy parents.

Out of the ones that inherited the jobs: 1 is the owner of a small hotel for which the general manager and the rest of the staff do all the work and have all the stress. She's 35-ish and hasn't worked a day in the last 4 years.

Second one is top 100 richest person in the country and she has directors and managers doing all the actual work and she just supervises them. Her biggest stress is her younger brother that actually works and is trying to take her businesses away from her. Instead of.. you know.. sharing and being stress-free.

Out of the "self made" ones: one somehow managed under communism, at 36, to be the chief of some government branch. Travelled a lot and shit. At the time, in 1990, he had a house, a car, 1000$ in savings (average, not minimum, salary at the time was 150$). And he got a 20k $ mortgage to start his own business, so that couldn't have been a cheap house. (Google says you could buy a 3 bedroom apartment in the center of the capital for 20k)

Other ones are just more of the same. Parents sent them to study abroad, get a bunch of experience, then they came back, used money most people don't have to start businesses and now at 40 they don't need to work anymore.

So...yeah.. stop licking their butts, please.

Oh, and forgot to mention that 2 of them went to prison for corruption and tax evasion. One of them also beat his wife, but she didn't file any charges afaik cause she was just as crazy as him.

Oh, and he offered me a job abroad, promised to pay my rent for half a year to help me get settled. He fired me after a month when he realized he didn't need me anymore and let me fend for myself. Ofc he also only paid a month of rent. So.. yeah jobless and homeless in a foreign country was fun.

  • Here. This is just one I happened to read 5 minutes before stumbling upon your post and going like "wtf is this guy smoking?" Because, yeah... Go to any post about the invasion and you'll find putin hate comments. Hell, even on trump related stuff you'll find plenty of trump+putin hate comments.

I think you're just dealing with some confirmation bias enforced by the fact that there's been a ton more trump+elon news lately than Ukraine war stuff.

  • It's easier than even mint. Because I've installed windows dozens of times and it has always worked out of the box. Always.

Friend gave me their old laptop that was sluggish and asked me to reinstall windows. I proposed Linux and promised them it'd work even better, they reluctantly agreed. I install mint. Sound not coming through headphones. I update everything that's there to update, tried a bunch of shit and waste like an hour before I finally find a thread that suggested manually updating to a newer kernel version. That fixes it.

Now I know something extra for next time but if it were someone less stubborn, they'd have given up and went back to windows. Most people don't know and don't care about debloating, trackers and whatnot.

Tldr; Windows is the easiest OS to install because it works right out of the box. Many Linux distros are even easier to install, but don't always work out of the box.
