Hum… like just see what the far-right Zionist militias in the 20-30s had to say, or what the first prime minister of Israel had to say. Or what they fucking did in 1948? A literal genocide, the Nakba. Like genocide has ALWAYS been their goal.
Lmao they should just stop colonising? And end apartheid? Like how hard is it to understand? A colonised people will keep fighting until they are dead.
You do know that the most well informed people (like active researchers in the field) are often the most pessimistic right? Like you hear on the media that “oh no we’re gonna pass 2º! I guess I won’t be able to ski as much”. But you go to a climate science conference and it’s “yeah… now that we can add more parameters and feedback loops into our models the chance of total extinction by 2100 is 99.99%. On the bright side, half of us expected it to be 100%. So kudos”.
Also, the US was VERY hesitant to enter the European war. There was a lot of support for the Nazis in the US. From some high ranking people. Like the first director of the OSS and the Dulles brothers (instrumental in forming the CIA and NATO). They wanted a separate peace with Germany, and to enter the European war against the Soviets. But luckily FDR was unmovable in his support of the Soviets against the Nazis.
I know, but that’s a very detached and unemotional take… Sure “life” will keep existing. But not the life we know. That we love. That we grew up loving so much.
I understand not everyone feels exactly like me. But I was absurdly fascinated by biology books and wildlife documentaries and would read and watch them religiously as a child.
Thinking of all of that just dying and ending truly breaks my heart. Almost more than anything.
Just not as much as the thought of humanity disappearing. But I know most people share that sadness.
That is true. But there is evidence he has been leaning towards the extreme right and anti-semitism for quite some time. Much before his most current mental health crisis. The fact he has now been surrounding himself with fascists and Christian nationalists is more a show of how far he has gone, not that those people influenced him to get there per se.
The games that have impacted me the most I guess have been Fallout New Vegas (RIP Benny…), Mass Effect (the whole trilogy, but the first one in particular), and Bioshock. I guess this likely really shows my age lmao. As in they all came out at the same time, not that I’m particularly old.
But maybe not doing laundry as often is better than feeling like an emotionless zombie… medication affects people differently. Maybe “just” coping and surviving is better than being “normal” and productive for some people.
Ok I was wrong in one of the examples. It’s indeed very hard to find countries that don’t tax at all, as it’s an important tool to control and maintain currency legitimacy.
But that doesn’t invalidate what I said at all.
Taxes are not used to fund the government. The government literally prints money. They are the ones that do it. They can do it whenever they want. They can also borrow almost infinitely unlike regular people. The government doesn’t need to “earn” money to spend it like people.
They own and control money, the currency as a whole.
Just read on the origins of money (“Debt the first 5000 years” for example) if you want to understand this more. I’m not a professional explainer so I might fuck things up.
But yeah, if a government spends too much but has no revenue (from national companies, taxes etc.) their currency can lose legitimacy. But if a country like the US has their whole currency backed by all countries in the world needing to hold huge reserves of it for international trade, the spending can reach astronomical levels before the currency starts to lose legitimacy.
It’s easier to be replaced by the Yen than to spend too much… Which is why politicians keep raising spending by hundreds of billions every year. But they never need to raise more taxes… Just complaint about the debt when they’re the opposition. Which keeps rising without any negative effect.
Idk man, like I said I’m not a professional explainer. You can read more on this or see some videos. Like it’s not such a fringe topic, I’m not being an edgy contrarian.
Would anyone be shocked to find out every country tries to interfere with the elections of every country? Specially of countries that affect them a lot?
Or do you guys not think the US interferes with say, Japanese elections? Or the Australians don’t interfere with New Zealand elections?
People think all countries are just nice and honest good friends? Only the “evil” ones do shit like this?
Saying they want Israel to stop existing is VERY different from calling for a genocide. And calling for “landback” is very far from genocide…
