  • In this case Trump doesn't use computers, doesn't know how to use a smartphone, probably doesn't know what an app is or what open source means or what end-to-end encryption means. So basically be has no conceptual basis to even form a passable understanding of what this scandal is about, let alone form a coherent opinion, and he probably lost patience early on when someone tried to explain it to him.

  • So yeah. Tariffs are bad. Let's get rid of them entirely.

70 percent of the revenue of US dairy producers comes from government subsidies lol. As a result they overproduce at less than half the real cost, all from your tax dollars. Pretending like everyone dropping tariffs on US dairy would make dairy trade "fair" is asinine.

  • The stuff you mentioned only matters if people know how to vote in their own best interest, and they don't. All the Tesla protesters and the AOC crowds likely voted Democrat anyways. Nobody's mind has changed.

I think that can start to change in the coming months. On April 2 Trump's full tariffs are going into effect. There will be a retaliatory response from the whole world. But make no mistake. If the election were held again today Trump would still win.

  • Maybe it's the "pee pee tapes". Maybe he got actual pictures from Stormy Daniels proving Trump really does have a small dick. There could be all sorts of skeletons in Trump's closet that he doesn't want coming out.

This will be dismissed as AI. Even if everyone knows it happened , after a day of shock the right will get their approved talking points and uncritically adopt them like always do. They're well trained.

The angle of Trump being personally compromised made sense at some point in time but I have no idea why we still talk about it. At this point it's nonsense. You can't comprise someone who can do literally anything with impunity.

  • I got the head unit changed in my Subaru . In the Subaru, the systems that the Head Unit controls (entertainment system, backup cam, Sat NAV) are totally separate from critical systems. So everything the head unit controls can fail and the car will still work.

And you're right, there's an interface/translation layer . In my case the guy used an iDataLink Maestro. It seems the only thing the iDataLink company does provide interfaces that allow head units to talk to car computers, so that the Head unit manufacturers don't have to bother.

I'm not sure such separation is common in EVs.

  • It's still up significantly from 1 year ago.

Their quarterly report is going to be really interesting. Since Tesla now literally cannot be investigated by the SEC or any other federal agency, I think cooking the books to hide the sales crash is very much on the table.

  • It's been a few years since I checked, but I do recall their page about irrational numbers being hilarious. Felt like it was written by a high school gym teacher who also taught grade 9 math , so he didn't really need to understand irrational numbers but was super irritated that they exist.
