  • You would probably be able to run it. It will run like crap, but it will likely start. Postgres can run on as little as 8mb of ram, but not well. I'd recommend a box with at least 2gb of ram if you want to spin up multiple containers.

sqlite would probably be a better choice on an aging pi, but I'm sure you have your reasons.

  • I tend to agree. It's disrespectful, but Trump doesn't have a single respectful bone in his body. It's another example of him being shitty or incompetent, but not much more than a headline.

His advisors are salivating at their ideas on how to rip the country apart and turn it into some Christian nationalist hellhole further controlled by oligarchs. I really could give two shits about the flag.

  • Let's all head to the conference room, so we can discuss the definition of a story point for an hour. I'd also like to talk about why we are behind schedule and our velocity is dipping. Let's make it two hours.

  • If he would have gracefully stepped down before the election cycle began and they ran someone who spoke to the issues of the people, I think we would have had a drastically different result. The candidate swap was necessary after the disastrous debate performance -- but if we started with a stronger, more coherent, candidate we wouldn't be here. If the Dems focused on delivering for the American people instead of turning Palestine into a smoldering parking lot costing over 22 billion dollars, we wouldn't be here. If they made any attempt to fix the concerns of the people over healthcare and the growing oligarchy running the show, we wouldn't be here.

They are bad at politics, messaging, and engaging what used to be their base. They offer no hope, just more of the same.

I want to see intelligent candidates out there who know how to deliver results. There are people like that out there, the Dems need to find and promote them. Nancy Pelosi just propped up a 74 year old cancer patient over AOC, so they continue to not learn any lessons and follow their existing playbook.

  • They opened the door wide open for Trump.to walk through. I blame them.

Running an 82 year old man who has noticeable cognitive decline and swapping candidates without a primary were very avoidable icebergs the Dems steered into.

Edit: the downvotes are interesting. It's not a popular message, but he very obviously wasn't suitable to run. He wasted all of our collective time to make a convincing argument.

  • Tip fatigue is real. When every interaction with a touchpad asks you for a little something extra on top of inflation, it gets old fast.

I tip 20% when I get served by a person. I typically add 10-15% on carryout, for their troubles.

A brewery I go to weekly for dinner with friends recently changed the tip buttons on the pad to 18, 22, and 25. I like them a lot, but the place is pricey, and you have to go to the bar to order. They get the 18% button now. (I could do the math, but... beer)

  • I wrote my representative in Congress for the first time in my life over this, as he is one of the Dems who voted for it. I'm not patting myself on the back, just recommending you do it too if you are a US citizen.

I don't have high hopes since his seat was purchased by AIPAC, but it felt good to vent to one of the people who have a voice in the system.

  • Yeah, it is sad. I am slightly more hopeful now after the UHC CEO was killed, and a lot of normal people started talking about their bad experiences with insurance companies. I won't hold my breath for a revolutionary change, but fingers crossed.

  • Oh I would go for the OEM part ten times out of ten, especially for such a nice appliance. Instead this person opted to make some plastic waste that will eventually be in the Ocean after we are all long dead.

Completely agree that Amazon garbage is terrible for humanity

  • If they go after Medicaid or Medicare it might bring more attention to how fucked up insurance is for Americans. I don't want them to be empowered to make any suggestions, but this might just bring a tense situation to a head.
