  • When you are traveling on the common backpacker routes, you'll met a lot of young Israelis who recently finished their military service.

My expierience with them is, that those who are open minded and look at the world, are very much against what the narrow minded fundamentalists are doing at home and in Palestine.

We have to stop to condem big groups of people on the actions of a few. This just makes us xenophobic, racist and hostile to everything different.

Not all Israelis are violent fundamentalists. Judge the government and official forces, not the people.
Not all Palestinians are Hamas terrorists.
    Not all Muslims are Islamists.
Not all Americans are white supremacists or suport immigrant children in cages.
Not all Germans are or were Nazis.
Not all mexicans are cartel gangsters.

  • I'm not surprised. That's what Israeli settlers are doing for decades, not just since October.

Tell me how people should not get radicalized, when your home and existence and that of your family is constantly threatened.

I'm not condoning the actions of Hamas, they are brutal and wrong. But Israel created that beast themselves and left Palestinians with no other options.

If you want a more human focused instead of politics I would recommend to read Kingdom of Olives and Ash: Writers Confront the Occupation

Jewish author Michael Chabon and Israeli born author Ayelet Waldman asked writers, journalists, authors of both sides and not involved at all, to visit the occupied territories and write an essay about their expierience. It shows a heartbreakingly personal point of view of the situation before the current war.

  • The article includes the initial Oct. 7 atrack, which is fair imo and checks somewhat out. Though they rounded down some.

Since October 7, when Hamas forces killed 1,139 Israelis and foreigners, including roughly 700 Israeli civilians, almost zero Israeli civilians have been killed by Palestinian forces. Since then, a few dozen Israeli hostages have been killed.

Israel has killed over 40,000 Palestinians since October. Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor estimates that at least 92 percent of those killed are civilians, meaning that at least 38,000 of those whose deaths have been reported to officials are civilians.

The true death toll is likely far, far higher, experts have said.

    If we believe these numbers

    • 700 + 'a few dozen' Israeli civilians
    • 38.000 Palestinian civilians

I come out at closer to 1:50.
But math never was my strength.

  • We had the periodic table in huge letters on the wall of our chemistry classroom. Wouldbe difficult to not allow students to use it during tests.

One of my nursing school teachers used to say "You don't have to know everything, you just have to know where to look it up." I always thought that's very good and practical advice.

  • Now they are comparing a basket of apples with a truckload of oranges. You can't tell me the number of civilians killed are even in the same ballpark.

Edit: Okay. Now I've read the article.

The civilian death ratio of Palestinians to Israelis is, conservatively, 45 to 1 — and this gulf grows larger each day.

  • If its something that you do for your own enjoyment and fun, its totaly okay to just leave it be, if you don't like it.

If its something that you do to better yourself, I think it's different and you should sometimes stick with it to see an outcome. Something that might give you better job opportunities, that makes you healthier, that makes you a better person, that makes your life easier or better if you stick it.

Don't give up on everything, because humans need to develop themselves, they need to grow and learn. If you just stop where you are and give up on any personal growth you will be unhappy with yourself and your life one day.

Think of your future self before quiting something and what that activity could do for future you.

  • They are legumes like beans, lentils, peas... they have a creamy texture and a nutty taste.
Maybe like white beans, but a bit sweeter and nuttier.

Did you ever had hummus? Its main ingredient is chickpeas.

  • I can imagine that this is a combination of his mental decline, his thoughts of grandeur that the people vote for him regardless and the knowledge that they won't accept any negative election results and they have a better, bigger plan in place invalidating the results and a Jan. 62

I really hope officials are better prepared this time for the GOPs shady business. Because they basically publicly announced it several times. Believe them when they say they'll fight the results, you don't have to vote anymore and they'll make the US an autocracy.
