  • I haven't run into that particular issue (I wish I could replace some old ones) but we stream back to a Linux box and then out to cloud storage for archival purposes so maybe we aren't hitting the onboard stuff as hard.

edit: the primary reason we deal with axis is because they're extremely configurable/fixable remotely

  • It's the rich. The owner, ruling class.

We're all just using different words for the ruling class. It really is as simple as haves and have-nots and it's been a concerted effort by the Haves to get more since 1940.

  • Axis makes good (the best) IP cams, I use them commercially, they're pretty much the gold standard. Super fucking expensive though so probably not worth it for home use but you might be able to pick up something 2nd hand.

  • beyond obvious that if people didn’t vote in this election, they’d literally never

Except for the 10m people that voted for Biden in 2020 but sat this round out.

You did say their apathy was justified, but it NEVER will be.

Where did I say that? There's plenty of blame to go around and non-voters will receive their share but right now we're talking about the rich ruling class who were unable to form any coherent argument or defense against an openly fascist, 34-time convicted, rapist. If that doesn't show what they bring to the table then I don't know what does.

  • You think it’s a sign that the politicians did something wrong that people literally can’t be bothered to stop obvious and imminent fascism.

You don't? You think politicians did their jobs? I think they've been asleep at the wheel for the last 4-5 decades.

Funnier still, you claimed they cared but not voting wasn’t something they could blamed for.

I never said they cared, the opposite in fact.

  • bothering to vote

Ah yes the absolute lowest bar for civic participation and they still couldn't reach it meanwhile Republicans are winning schoolboards across the country.

I'm actually coming around to your side though, both sides aren't the same, one of them is good at politics.

  • "They saw how dangerous the people actively working against democracy were and were *still unable to form a coherent argument against it or court the millions of people who were afraid of it."

I'm not sure evil through incompetence is any different than willful evil. One smiles while they patronize you, the other doesnt.

  • From where I sit the Democratic party was so afraid of an actual changecandidate that they neglected to have a primary and foisted a milquetoast pro-LE candidate that didn't do anything to reach their base and instead tried to court it's opponents supporters. So, maybe they're actually worse than Republicans, at least an R will tell you they hate you and want to take your rights.

An openly fascist rapist beat them, if that isn't an indictment of them I don't know what is.

The Democratic party lost, it's now OK to point at them and say "what a bunch of out of touch rich fucks" and throw them to the wolves, they do not represent us and in that way, are exactly the same as the other side.

  • "No they wouldn’t, it would be bad for their investments in the economy, with more workers in the labour pool the cheaper labour becomes. So reducing that worker pool would mean companies would spend more on each worker reducing profits."

    You agree with that comment?

  • Jim (40yo & married): "this is dumb and obviously just another ploy to turn people against each other"

Lemmy: "anyone who thinks this is stupid is an unfuckable neckbeard rapist!"

Have fun not-fucking the best years of your life away while you get played by the latest payop.

Wonder what the "thing" we're all enraged about will be next month.
