  • it was 64 people. edit: and also, even 29 or something like this is a lot, assuming that they are selected kind of randomly and not all belong to the same social group etc. If only 3 showed a reaction like described, sure. We need more data. but with a hitrate of 100%, what do you expect to happen if you 10x the number?

  • I agree, the liability for user content in community hosted games is just pure bullshit excuses.

online-only is not bad, some mechanics just work like that. that's totally fine. Just release the server code when you don't want to host any more.

That would be true if all consumers would have the time and understanding to be perfectly informed all the time, which is not realistic.

  • I have some very old RAM at home. You could see the single bits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic-core_memory I have a small viol with some 100 bytes, and one of those fabrics with the rings still on the wires. I threw away the PCB because it was huge...

I just read the article and learned: it was phased out before I was born, and it's the root of the name "core dump" etc :D

  • I have a few friends, we play several hours per day. two of us are parents, but kids are 5+. it was way more difficult before.... one is single and only does work/play. one is in a relationship w/o kids all working.
