It's weird -- I think the McD's theme in the last episode was right at the edge of being without taste. This show owes so much to its set/prop/costume design staff that it's OK to show off how much their work was inspired by the aesthetics of those early-80's McDonnalds restaurants. For an old like me, seeing those overhead menu boards again genuinely felt like a treat. Bloviating about how good the apple pies are was really pushing it, though.
I'm not certain whether or not it was effectively debunked, but there's a lot of personal belief and interest around the idea that one's gender is what one says it is and no amount of anatomical measurement (genital length, count of brain neurons or genetic flag) is permitted to say whether or not you are what you deem yourself to be.
If such a test did exist, then what's to be said of trans people whose gender expression doesn't line up with the test? What's to be said of cis people in the same boat? Are they trans whether they like it or not? Are they living a lie?
Of these, I think mother!. The Images and vibes there are taking up the most rent-free space in my brain.
I neglected to mention Gasper Noe; basically everything he's done. But his work leans too hard into palpable horrors for me to ever actively recommend.
Harmon: I hate to call him out but Elijah Wood really abused having my personal number. What a vulture this guy was! Heâs always wanted to be Morty. Elijah, please regain your professionalism!
Sadly, this made me laugh more than anything in How Poopy Got His Poop Back.
But as a user of Firefox on mobile, Iâm running into a weird persistent issue around the back button and post listings on pages beyond the first page. Sometimes, when I click into either the comments of a post or the post itself, when I click the âbackâ button to return to the post list, sometimes I will end up on the previous page of search results (as though I pressed the back button twice).
Reloading the page seems to fix the problem (showing me the post list page that I expect), but itâs still weird.
Any national-stage politician who isn't, at the very least, simulcasting their Twitter/X posts to a fediverse account is actively backing (and consequently diminishing alternatives to) a fascist-controlled megaphone.
If he wants me to give a shit about what he has to say, he'll need to make the effort to find different coms channels through which to do it.
You know what would be great? Low-barrier non-predatory banking services for low-income people provided by the post office like basically every other country has.
