  • Transcription: political cartoon style in a single pane:

Three men in a car, the front holds JD Vance in the passenger's seat and Elon Musk in the driver's seat. A strap around the front seat secures a child's toy steering wheel, which faces into the back. Trump sits in back seat, clutching the wheel.

Text on image: "So cute! He thinks he's steering!.."

  • Are Beavers really cute? The teeth of these large water rodents are orange because they are full of iron; these teeth never stop growing.

But if you are being serious, women don't really like being reduced to names that refer to their pudendum. It is objectifying.

    Source: Canadian woman.

Edit: just realized which sub this is posted in. Oh well, think of the vocab word "Pudendum" as my Xmas gift to you. (Refers to a woman's external genitals, ie. vulva.)

  • 3-panel comic from Poorly Drawn Lines

1st pane: Mouse with a red balloon, saying: "Every day is a good day when you have a balloon".

    2nd pane: balloon pops "POP"

3rd pane: Mouse laying down on couch, under a blanket, with the shades drawn-- his facial hair is coming in.

    EDIT: fucky formatting

    • Vein.

Origin: Possibly from mining, because valuable minerals often occur in geological veins.

    Vain is vanity.

  • I love the way this is written, thanks.

  • The first thing he shouted from the car taking him to the courthouse fit the idea that this was all planted:

it's completely unjust! It's an insult to the intelligence of the American people!"

To me that reads: this is dishonest and unfair because it wasn't me it's an insult to USians intelligence because I don't even look like him. (My inferences in italics.)

It was reported on Dec 10 that he said the money was planted on him.

  • The state trial against Mangione will come before his federal trial, prosecutors said.

WTF? I never heard about federal charges-- isn't that double jeopardy?

Like the reporter said, they might be trying to make it so there are no copycats, but they clearly don't understand the number of people that wouldn't want to be making it out alive. Their trumped up charges aren't a deterrent.

If I were USian, I'd be mega-pissed that they are making the CEO's death out like Luigi killed the king.

  • I disliked the effects of weed back when it was illegal (Canada); just made me paranoid. Our legalization of recreational marijuana helped me understand that weed is more than THC. (Anything I'd have smoked back in the 90s was probably crazy amounts of sole THC.)

Legalization has allowed me to experiment with CBD levels. Now I get a 1:2 ratio of THC:CBD and it's a completely different thing. I'm relaxed, smiley, glued to the couch and off of Benzos. (I like Mango Haze.)

I know it's not for everyone, and I'm not a pusher, but I thought I'd mention that CBD is a game changer. (There is CBG now too.)

  • Ahh ok, clearly I need more weed!

I usually try to slip around geese, and if that fails I book it.

  • I'm not sure you meant to reply to me? I was just tryin to stick up for you against Johnny No-Posts.

I never advocated Bird Violence; I am Friend to Bird and had three bestie Steller's Jays during the lockdown. They visited multiple times a day for nuts, and would wait for me on the patio.

  • As a Canadian, have you ever met a Canada goose?

    I feel you OP.

Also, telling someone they should be embarrassed because they are afraid or don't want to fight is toxic, although I guess maybe you are joking?

  • Most people don’t hate CEOs. They don’t care about CEOs. They have bigger issues to care about.”

Bigger issues? Like the health care bills they are drowning in? Also, I think most people loathe CEOs, these bitches have zero awareness.

  • I was going to bring up card catalogues and microfiche, but it is more difficult now, especially with all the AI written articles popping up a la carte as top results.

I guess it would be like the physical library having a fee^1 to enter, the librarian men and women in lingerie and banana hammocks, and all the publications unsorted: Fiction and Non-Fiction together with celebrity magazines, The National Enquirer, and nazi publications.... and lots of torn out pages.

^1 Fee replaces ads. I'd rather not picture a world where the advertising in the show Maniac exists. (Can't afford the bus? The ad-reader shows up and speaks ads at you until you have "earned" the $1.25, or whatever.)

  • I miss punctuation.

  • Do you have a source or what to query, because when I plug in "Kathleen Mangione" all I get is they she reported her son missing.
