  • I don't have an exact answer for you, but I can share this: Part of military training up here in the Arctic involves a lot of cold weather training. And an officer explicitly told us that if we felt the slightest urge to shit or piss, take care of it ASAP - "Heating up all that crap is energy better spent heating up the rest of you"

    • Give Volodymyr a call
    • Pull out of Ukraine and Georgia
    • Hand over Putin to ICC
    • Instruct the loyalists that democratic reform is coming, and nobody is to be given the window/tea treatment.
    • Call Navalnys widow and tell her to prepare her political aparatus
    • Announce an election in 6 months (should be enough to prepare everything, I guess?) with international observers encouraged to participate
    • Realize that I have no fucking idea how to ensure that elections on that scale are free and fair, so I ask for assistance from aforementioned observers.
    • Pull an epic prank on Lukashenko. Possibly involving potatoes.
    • Realize that I am in no way fit to run a country, and start planning my (safe) exit. Once the election results are in I'll be gone without a trace.
    • Repeal putins laws
    • Start releasing political prisoners
    • Last thing I do before leaving is calling this guy named/called Misha whether he's fine with Murmansk, or if he wants the city to have a new name.
  • Audio, yes, to a certain degree. With video I don't care that much, as long as there aren't any details I'd miss on lower res. The resolution I use on YouTube is usually dictated by the audio quality that comes with.

Back in the 90's when MP3 sharing via modem was common, the "normal" bitrate was 128kbit/s, and people often commented that I refused to download and save them. 160kbit/s was OK. 256kbit/s was preferred.

I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, I just really hate it when instruments and voices sound like rusty chains being dragged across a washboard.

As I mentioned above, I'm not that picky. Possibly environmentally damage from sailing the high seas 20-25 years ago to watch myself favorite TV shows. I don't mind pixels and visual compression artifacts that much.

  • I recently tested Warhammer III: Total War (Don't remember the exact title), and I would consider it an objectively good game, but:

    • It wasn't my kind of game, so I refunded it. I find that the Total War games for the past 10 years have involved too much repetitive drudgery on the campaign map. In my opinion, it hasn't aged well. If you like the Total War games, this might be for you, though.
    • Expensive business model built around DLCs. Do you like Chaos Dwarves? Be prepared to pay extra.

As a whole I wouldn't advice against this game, as it is beautiful and well done. But the above two points need to be taken into account.

  • Your username and password combo probably leaked from somewhere. It happens when services you use have a breach.

This is why it is recommended to not use the same password for everything, as well as changing your password once in a while.

Also, I recommend putting your email into https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and it will let you know if your address has been part of any breaches that it is aware of. Optional: Sign up, and you'll be emailed if your address does appear at a later date.

  • I have several favorite bands, so I refuse to choose between them. In no particular order:

Dream Theater - Images and Words, but Awake is only lagging behind by a nanometer.

Metallica - I have a hard time choosing between Puppets and Black

    Destiny Potato - Lun

    Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical

Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
