  • I'd guess the ag field can adjust for maneuvers, but not unexpected jolts from battle? And yeah why do we never hear about the shattered tanks in hydroponics, people falling into the warp core, and doctors getting stabbed by their own scalpels every time a laser hits the ship?

  • They get paid to talk - being good at it is just bonus points. So while, if they notice something in the strategy they'll break it down, but if they don't notice or can't think of anything to say, they'll just state the obvious to keep the commentary going. That's one thing I appreciate about the Formula 1 announcers, one of them has racing experience so they constantly break down and analyse the strategy in real time, and very rarely add useless filler talk.

  • Environmental impact is still less than ICE, yes, but until we figure out a better way to process lithium and make batteries last longer hybrids still have a smaller environmental impact over the lifetime of the vehicle. Eventually we need to cut out petrol entirety of course, but until we get clean batteries the better short-term solution is hybrids when a vehicle is strictly necessary, and bikes or waking in all other cases. An electric motorcycle might be a good short-term solution too, but as of now battery manufacturing is unacceptably dirty. But as you said, it's still better than ICE. I just think hybrid would be better as a transition while the technology is improved.
