Some people who like anime are pedophiles. Some people who write children's books are pedophiles. Some people who go to bars are drunkards. Some furries are zoophiles and sexualize things. Some preachers molest children. Some norse pagans are nazis. Some college clubs drink and do drugs. Some gun owners commit murder. Some politicians take bribes.

A few sick, twisted members of a group, when they're a minority by far, can never define the entire group. Literally anything cute and innocent can be perverted and sexualized by a few evil individuals.

If it's too late to free up the budget, then by all means continue the program. But no more long shots like this until we have a solid plan. I love NASA, I love the prospect of getting these things done, but no one nation can do something like a Mars sample collection effectively. It needs to be a planetary effort. And I don't mean getting an actuator from the UK and a commemorative plaque in 40 languages from Luxembourg or whatever, I mean serious funding. It's long past time we turn our symbolic collaboration to actual funding, agreeing to match the expenditure with 20 countries as percentage of federal budget or what have you. Like if the EU matched the percentage of our budget (however many billions) from their budget. Now add China, Russia, India, Japan, Australia - even 10mil or however little the percentage would add up to from South africa would help if every moderately big county on Earth did that.

It's time. We have tried to act by silent manipulation - a perfectly valid way of exercising our will. But we have failed. In attempting to exercise our will in a way synchronous to those more powerful than us, we have instead allowed them to build us into another herd morality - one of willing slavery. This can stand no longer. Violence against those weaker than you is a sign of weakness. They fight for themselves and their own will to power. I respect that - but they have made a fatal mistake, and shown their weakness by resorting to a show of force against us. It is this:

The revolution began long ago. Perhaps it has burned since the beginning of time, recurring forever, and will never truly end until the universe collapses and our eternal will is ended.

But perhaps in fighting, we can join something eternal. Something not reliant on faith or platonic idealism, but rather a tangible effect that repeats until time itself is extinguished.

I choose to join. I ask you to as well. Join us - join the force, with no name or banner, but a common goal - and live, through your will, forever.
