  • 100% agree. A few articles on KCNA and a vague legal reference is not enough evidence to make any claims about either the government or citizen's stances on LGBT ppl and how they are treated and viewed.

  • Only before you collaborate with anyone else. After that, don't ever use rebase, or they'll get an error, and will have to overwrite their local history with the one you've rewritten.

  • Elections in bourgeois democracy are nothing but political theatre, because ultimately capitalists stand above and control the political system to suit their interests. There is no don't commit genocide, bomb countries, or exploit the global south option in any imperial core country, and if there is, they don't last for long because of the hundreds of impediments to democracy (which the greeks properly saw as rule by the poor, not this sham popularity)

The ancient greeks knew this, and considered representative/election-based governments as nothing but sham popularity contests that serve the oligarchy. Aristotle even defined democracy as "rule by the poor", and wouldn't consider our liberal "democracies" as being democratic at all.

Communists have known this since the 1800s, but even modern liberal studies like the princeton one show, that voting has no effect on policy, and only dollar / wealthy interest groups matter.

  • If you try to pull someone else's rebased / history rewritten branch, your git will tell you that it's rejected. You can completely avoid this by merging instead of rewriting history.

  • You try to pull someone's changes, but whoops, they used rebase and rewrote history! Delete the branch and start over.

  • Many liberal countries have these alternative voting systems, and it means nothing. Australia and Japan for example use alternate voting systems, and yet are still far-right countries who are killing indigenous movements and have extremely unpopular governments.

The root problem is that in liberal countries, capitalists stand above the political system, and control it for their own purposes. No people's democracy can emerge from within it, regardless of any system of "checks and balances" or voting systems.

  • Or on a starship

  • I don't have experience in making videos, but I can think of a few good guidelines here:

    • Decide who your target audience is, like envision this person, and make your content for their benefit. If it's a depoliticized person, explain what terms mean simply before using them.
    • Don't do tailism / reaction content, you set the agenda and let other people discuss.
    • Write out your general script / essay before making it. The persuasive essay format, ie outline the few points you want to prove first, then get into each of them in detail, then end with the outline again, is a great format.
    • Don't make content more than 20 minutes. I think the average attention span is like 10-15m max.
    • Material conditions specific to your country or city are always good topics: jobs, rents, cost of living, public infrastructure, etc.
    • Focus on important questions / topics... Answer questions you wish you were asked, not low effort ones that lower the discourse.
    • You can avoid scaring people by showing that anyone who works for the people's betterment, regardless of their actual politics, has historically and will be labelled as communist and targeted by the US military and their servants. Hell, even if you talk about wanting to raise wages or decrease rents, someone will label you a communist, even if you aren't one.
    • Be a person who people can look to and say, this person would do a better job than the current people in charge. That means not talking down to others, being measured and disciplined, and always with an outlook of how best to serve and help people. Read how to be a good communist by liu shaoqi, or fidel's autobiography to internalize these values.
    • If you want opsec, don't show your face, and do like hakim does.

This is a great project, and I wish you the best of luck. Italy has a rich history of communist figures to talk about too.

  • After AOC voted present rather than no on a 1B USD funding bill for Israel's iron dome:

According to the congresswoman, "In the macro of national impact, I probably should have gone with my values - which would be to vote 'No' - but in the micro, I do believe this created a window in our community to bring all folks to the table."

  • Unfortunately no US president will ever face a war crimes tribunal, despite the devastation and mass murder they've caused. In 2016 alone, Obama dropped an average of 3 bombs every hour on the middle east and north africa. Its a sad truth that none of these people will ever have to pay for their crimes.

  • You should make this an infographic.

  • Wikipedia, I know, but Latvia was one of the most enthusiastic holocaust participants. They left only ~3k jews alive out of 60k before the nazis came in.

  • I want to get good at go so bad, but don't know how to get started.

  • Every country should strive for this.

  • People in general are pretty unaware of the scope of US atrocities, or they think it's something that happened in the past, and isn't currently happening.

Thus all the posts to "protect our freedom from authoritarian regimes", when in reality it's the US who runs slave labor camps, is currently bombing many countries, killing and torturing dissidents, runs immigrant detention camps, etc.

  • I've been reading his book on this scandal too, it's excellent. Long, but it's very entertaining so it goes fast.
